Office Manager – Cambridge Full-Time | On-site | Monday to Friday £45,000 We are recruiting an experienced and proactive Office Manager to oversee daily operations within a busy corporate workplace environment in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong workplace services, facilities coordination, and people management experience who enjoys delivering a high-quality employee and visitor experience. The Role As the Office Manager, you will take ownership of the smooth running of the site, acting as the main point of contact for operational matters and ensuring workplace services are delivered efficiently and professionally. You will work closely with local leadership teams, finance partners, and specialist support functions to meet business needs, enhance employee satisfaction, and drive continuous service improvement. On-site presence is required, and you may occasionally be contacted regarding out-of-hours facility emergencies (response optional). Key Responsibilities Act as the primary on-site contact for office and workplace operations Oversee front-of-house services including reception, security, and visitor support Manage business continuity planning, emergency response, and health & safety programmes Coordinate sustainability initiatives, recycling, green workplace practices, and employee engagement activity Support food services, supplies management, asset tracking, and record retention processes Partner with local leadership to create a positive employee experience and respond proactively to workplace needs Assist in developing action plans based on employee feedback and satisfaction surveys Support site-level initiatives and workplace improvement projects Prepare, manage, and forecast operational budgets in collaboration with finance teams Oversee vendor compliance, contract administration, insurance, and risk management Coordinate occupancy planning, seating arrangements, office moves, and site expansions Liaise with landlord/property management services and coordinate external visits Support shipping, receiving, onboarding, orientation, and recruitment activities Work with IT teams on new starter setup, telecommunications, videoconferencing, and site requirements Organise employee events, community engagement, and charitable initiatives What We’re Looking For 5+ years’ experience in office management, workplace operations, facilities, or a similar environment Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Confident communicator able to handle sensitive or complex information High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Strong numerical ability and attention to detail in budgeting and cost control Proactive, service-driven mindset with a focus on employee experience Qualifications High School Diploma / GED (or equivalent) required Additional workplace, facilities, or health & safety training is beneficial
