Role purpose and scope: The Clubhouse Manager's primary goal is to ensure smooth club operations and deliver excellence at every opportunity. To do this, they will work with the Senior Golf Team, Head Chef, and the wider HOD team to coordinate and manage all operational aspects of FHGC, including facilities, to the highest possible standards. They will do this by living our values and advancing our purpose across the club. The Clubhouse Manager must be prudent and inspiring; they must also have in-depth knowledge of hospitality and club operations. A respect for and understanding of golf is desirable. Responsibilities: Club purpose & values: - Lead member and customer engagement, creating strategies to promote our purpose at every possible opportunity. - Contribute to member retention by being a highly visible figure around the club and maintaining excellent induction, recruitment, and retention strategies. - Drive employee engagement through HR practices to contribute to developing a high-performing team and culture of success. - Contribute and hold relevant meetings to deliver operational success. - Build trusting relations with the staff team, members, visitors, key partners and other stakeholders. - Be one of the main contacts for the team. - Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and recommend and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth. - Maintain a deep knowledge of the golf & hospitality market. Operations: • Drive sales and the achievement of our objectives through quality HR practices to ensure we deliver success on an annual basis. - Lead club operations and work closely with all other senior managers to ensure the smooth running of the club on a day-to-day basis. - Run the clubhouse through quality Standard Operating Procedures to ensure we are always driving excellence. - Recommend and then make high-quality decisions to advance the operations and overall business, and increase profits. - Ensure and review accurate and timely financial and non-financial reports and budgets to devise solutions or improvements. Facilities & Compliance: • Work with the HOD team to manage the clubhouse facility, its maintenance while creating internal audits and monitoring and identifying improvement opportunities - Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company's legality and business ethics. - Lead on the delivery of the Club's Health & Safety and full compliance to ensure full UK legal compliance and that the club operates efficiently and in full compliance with UK regulations. - Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and recommend and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth. - Maintain a deep knowledge of the golf industry and other industries that are relevant to the company. As such, the Clubhouse Manager is accountable for: • Contributing to growing club sales, managing costs and driving the business's profits while ensuring smooth operations at all times. - Leading, guiding, directing and supporting the team to deliver our purpose, objectives and financial goals. - Ensuring a high-quality experience for members and visiting golfers, providing high levels of engagement at all times. - Communicating with the DOG & O and HOD team regularly to review key developments, issues, opportunities and concerns - Ensuring the DOG & O and HOD team is alerted to forthcoming complex, contentious or sensitive issues affecting FHGC.
