The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic Director of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development to join our leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to be at the front line of Banneker’s growth — forging partnerships, winning high-impact projects, and positioning the firm as the premier CBE-certified real estate and construction partner in the region. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, driven, and skilled at building trusted relationships with decision-makers in government, private development, and institutional sectors. You will be a key player in shaping our growth trajectory, expanding both our general contracting and real estate development pipelines. Key Responsibilities • Lead Business Development Strategy: Develop and execute a clear business development plan aligned with Banneker’s five-year growth strategy., • Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with government agencies, developers, investors, architects, engineers, and community leaders to identify and secure new opportunities., • Pursue New Work: Identify, pre-position, and win new contracts in general contracting, construction management, and real estate development., • Oversee Proposals & Presentations: Partner with internal teams (Preconstruction, Development, Marketing) to produce winning RFP/RFQ responses, presentations, and marketing collateral., • Expand Market Presence: Represent Banneker at industry events, conferences, networking forums, and with civic leaders to elevate our brand and visibility., • Revenue & Pipeline Accountability: Track and report on business development performance, including pipeline growth, hit rate, and strategic wins., • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in business development, client relations, or strategic partnerships — preferably in real estate development, construction, or architecture/engineering industries., • Strong network of relationships with public agencies, developers, and institutions in the D.C./Maryland region is highly desirable., • Demonstrated track record of winning significant construction/development contracts or partnerships., • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills., • Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000 base salary (commensurate with experience), • Performance Bonus: Competitive bonus potential tied to individual and company growth targets., • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement plan with match, and professional development allowance., • On-site role based in Silver Spring headquarters, with regular engagement across the D.C./Maryland region.
