Job Description Job Title: US Visual Merchandising Manager Reports To: Head of Retail – US Department: US Retail / Visual Merchandising Location: US Office – New York Travel Required: Across US store locations, as well as occasional travel to London, UK Role Summary: At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to “Make it easy for men to dress well”. The primary purpose of the US VM Manager is to ensure comprehensive planning, collaboration and vision in the creation of VM plans for US stores. Together with store leaders, ensuring exceptional execution by store teams of directives and visual standards in the US. Working closely with the Global VM team to balance global proposition with local market needs. Key Responsibilities: • Partner with UK VM and Marketing Team, as well as Head of US Retail to achieve strategic goals and develop clear vision for US VM, • Develop the plan for US VM ensuring to take initiative and lead on development of seasonal strategy with a plan for execution of key activities, • Partner with Head of US Retail in training/developing store teams on visual merchandising, while maintaining strong relationships with Store Managers, • Develop strong relationships with key Head Office departments based in the UK such as Merchandising and Marketing to ensure accurate cross functional working and effective US VM strategy and execution., • Maintain US VM budget with support from US Head of Retail and UK Finance team, aiming to control costs in line with planned spend, communicating concerns, • Lead US vendor relationships, as well as work with UK vendors, • Through partnership with the UK VM and Property teams, lead all VM aspects of new store openings and store re-fit operations in the US., • Use weekly meetings (US & UK) with key stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities and trials for the business, • Maintain continual analysis of competitor activity to remain one step ahead, • Influence and understand the Global visual proposition and reflect this in a US proposition which also balances US and local market needs. Create relevant directives in line with brand guidance, and ensure the offer in all stores is consistently and commercially displayed, • Manage and lead the styling process and function to ensure all desired looks appropriately represent the brand across multi-channels, • Manage and elevate store standards through product placement, window installations, styling and team development, in-line with the brand vision, • Own mannequin styling, logistics and execution in all locations, • Strong experience working in a similar VM role, • Demonstrated success in planning, executing and evaluating concepts and season launches, • Proven ability to develop excellent working relationships, • Knowledge of developing directives in keeping with seasonal direction and brand, • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, • Training, developing and coaching teams, • Ability to influence and voice ideas/feedback to partners in a different country – being the voice of US VM Behavioral Competencies • Self-motivated and a self-starter, • Strategic; maintaining a vision, but with ability to be reactive, • Confident decision maker and commanding presence, • Keen leader with a positive communication style, • Self-awareness of own growth and opportunities to improve, as well as skills and strengths, • Adaptable, flexible, resilient, open-minded, • Demonstrate the core values of Charles Tyrwhitt: Be the Boss, Be the Best, Be the Customer, • Strong communicator Technical Skills • Experience with various VM and Design applications and platforms, • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel What you can expect from us CT is a privately-owned business, so we're not a big corporate-style place to work.
