About the Role: The Senior Corrosion Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and longevity of industrial assets by implementing advanced corrosion control measures. This position involves conducting detailed inspections, monitoring corrosion rates, and applying protective coatings and treatments to prevent material degradation. The role requires collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and execute corrosion mitigation strategies that comply with industry standards and safety regulations. The Senior Corrosion Technician will also analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to corrosion prevention programs. Ultimately, this position is essential for maintaining operational safety, reducing downtime, and extending the service life of infrastructure within various industrial environments across the United States. This position includes regular travel as the business requires, sometimes for long periods of time (2-3 week intervals) Minimum Qualifications: • AMPP (NACE) CP2 with 5 years field related pipeline corrosion experience OR AMPP (NACE) CP1 with 8 years field related pipeline corrosion experience, • Must be able to read and comprehend maps and GPS systems, • Knowledgeable in field data acquisition / troubleshooting, • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members, • Detail oriented with strong organization and planning skills, • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for insurability, • Must be able to travel regularly up to 2-3 weeks at a time Experience using American Innovations technology products (Allegro, PCS, Bullhorn) Responsibilities: • Conduct testing including, but not limited to, structure-to-soil potential, soil resistance and current requirement, • Conduct rectifier maintenance inspections including necessary troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs, • Correctly and safely operate test equipment including pipe and/or cable locaters, high input impedance digital multi-meters, clamp-on ammeters, electrical isolation inspection meters, and various hand and power tools, • Maintain assigned truck, tools, and equipment, • Prepare and deliver written and electronic administrative reports, • Deliver weekly verbal reports at technical staff meetings regarding project status, • Coordinate administrative and technical meetings and tasks between the company and the client, • Recognize and report business development opportunities to the sales and marketing team and represent the company in client interactions, • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes, • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly, • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly, • Sitting, standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time (1-3 hours), • Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations, • Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions, • Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment The Senior Corrosion Technician utilizes corrosion control skills daily by conducting precise inspections and applying appropriate protective measures to industrial assets. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting data from corrosion monitoring equipment and identifying potential risks before they escalate. Communication skills enable effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clear documentation of findings and recommendations. Technical proficiency with coatings application and cathodic protection systems ensures the implementation of effective corrosion mitigation strategies. Additionally, staying informed about industry standards and emerging technologies allows the technician to continuously improve corrosion control practices and maintain compliance with safety regulations. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
