Job Description We are looking for an assertive, ambitious, kind, and outgoing team member to begin working full-time for our fast-growing plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm. The right candidate will work within a team of one associate lawyer, a litigation paralegal, and a pre-litigation paralegal. This position can be part-time or full-time for the right candidate. Night or part-time law students are a good fit for this role if seeking full-time. Full-time students are a better fit for a part-time role. We use FileVine as a case management system and various software automation to make our team's lives easier. We're a mostly paperless firm. Compensation: $45,000-$58,000 annually, or ~$22-$27/hour + quarterly performance bonuses Compensation: $45,000 - $58,000 annually + quarterly performance bonuses Responsibilities: • Support Litigation Paralegals and Attorneys by being the first point of task delegation, • Collecting and organizing evidence for disclosures and trial exhibits., • Drafting & filing litigation documents, including disclosures, pleadings & written discovery, • Assist paralegal with pre-litigation tasks (initial case investigative research, demand drafting, caselaw research using Westlaw as needed for miscellaneous letters to defendants), • Scheduling attorney meetings with witnesses, experts, and clients, • Calendaring & managing litigation deadlines, • Scheduling and noticing depositions, • Assist paralegal with litigation tasks (serve defendants using Proof Portal, draft deposition topic letters, draft A2 disclosures, draft written discovery, draft case management orders, draft trial management orders), • Assist attorney with litigation tasks (draft mediation statements, conduct legal research using Westlaw, draft complaints, draft motions in limine, draft miscellaneous reply and response motions), • Attend expert witness meetings, lay witness meetings, mediations, depositions, and trials as needed, • Assist with trial preparation (draft motions in limine, draft trial briefs, draft jury instructions, review depositions, and create designations, cut deposition designation videos)Qualifications:, • Legal research experience or current law student preferred, • Comfortable learning new technologies and software, • Excellent reading, writing, and people skills, • Attention to detail, • Empathy for personal injury victims, • Client and Team-oriented, • Possessing personal grit for dealing with stressful and time-sensitive events in litigation and trialAbout Company We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to be a critical part of a young, successful, and growing firm.
