The practice is sophisticated and centered on estate planning, business, and real estate matters. Position Overview: The firm is seeking an Estate Planning Transactional Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of estate planning experience and ideally 3-5 years of overall litigation or legal practice exposure. This role involves working closely with senior attorneys to deliver high-quality estate planning services to a range of clients, including individuals, families, and business owners. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to transition from a larger firm or solo practice into a highly professional yet balanced work environment with low billable expectations and strong mentorship. Key Responsibilities: • Draft, review, and update estate planning instruments including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, • Assist in probate and trust administration matters, • Provide counsel on estate planning strategies, asset protection, and related tax considerations, • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda or recommendations, • Meet with clients to gather information, advise, and deliver estate planning guidance, • Apply strong judgment and analytical skills to client matters, • Collaborate with colleagues while also working independently on assigned matters, • Manage workload and maintain billable hours in alignment with firm expectations Qualifications: • 2+ years of estate planning legal experience (required), • Ideally 3-5 years overall legal/litigation practice exposure, • Strong communication, writing, and research abilities, • Familiarity with probate, trust administration, and estate planning documents, • Ability to exercise sound legal judgment, • Strong employment history and demonstrated commitment to client service, • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team, • Real estate experience is a plus Work Schedule & Hybrid Policy: • First 60 days: fully onsite for training and integration, • After training: hybrid schedule with 2 remote days per week, • Additional onsite attendance may be required based on client needs, • Hybrid schedule may be adjusted if attendance guidelines are not met Why Join This Firm: • Exceptionally low billable requirement (1400 hours) compared to market norms, • Collaborative, collegial, and supportive work environment, • Meaningful mentorship and clear growth opportunities, • Balanced workload for attorneys seeking stability and professional fulfillment, • Competitive compensation, benefits, and performance-based bonuses, • Ideal for attorneys transitioning from high-pressure environments Location: Downtown Portland, OR Compensation: $58 - $72 per hour or $120,000 - $150,000 annually Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire Billable Requirement: 1400 hours/year (one of the lowest targets in Portland) Bonus: Typical annual bonuses range from $5,000-$15,000 based on billables Schedule: Full-time; hybrid after 60 days onsite (2 remote days per week) *This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients.
