In this role, you will support warehouse and production operations by maintaining inventory, preparing shipments, and moving materials to fulfill production and customer needs. Success in this role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to thrive in a fast -paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing schedules that vary by season. Work Schedule: This is a full -time position, generally scheduled for 40–50 hours per week, with additional overtime, weekends, or adjusted shifts as needed. Hours vary seasonally, with increased schedules during ice cream season. Duties & Responsibilities Cold Storage Environment • Work for extended periods of time in –20-degree environments (with appropriate PPE). Inbound & Outbound Handling • Load and unload trailers with finished goods and/or raw materials using powered industrial trucks., • Verify trailer condition, seal integrity, and product counts during receiving and shipping., • Communicate any discrepancies to supervisors and quality teams promptly., • Ensure all outbound trailers are properly staged, loaded, and documented in compliance with customer or carrier requirements. Warehouse Inventory & Movement • Perform accurate put away of finished goods into assigned rack locations using RF scanners and WMS (e.g., Solochain)., • Pick product from racking and floor locations according to work orders and shipping requirements., • Complete case picking for customer orders —building mixed pallets accurately and safely., • Stage and wrap outbound pallets using automated or manual wrapping equipment., • Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives, ensuring all locations, pallets, and inventory are verified and variances communicated timely. Elevated & Equipment Operation • Safely operate stand-up reach and/or turret forklifts within narrow aisles and at high elevations (~55 ft)., • Utilize required fall protection harnesses when operating at elevation or on lift platforms., • Conduct pre-use inspections and report mechanical issues immediately., • Follow all equipment, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and freezer safety policies. Material Support for Production • Deliver raw materials to production lines according to the daily production plan., • Retrieve and return packaging, ingredients, and supplies as needed to maintain line uptime., • Coordinate with Line Leads and Supervisors for timely material replenishment. Inventory Control & Documentation • Accurately record all material movements via WMS (Solochain) and handheld devices., • Maintain product integrity and traceability at all times (lot, code, and date verification)., • Assist in root-cause analysis of inventory variances and contribute to corrective actions. Material Support for Production • Pick and stage raw materials in accordance with the production plan to ensure efficient line startup., • Stage ingredients and packaging in proper tempering or conditioning locations to control product viscosity and readiness for processing., • Deliver materials to and from the production staging areas as required to maintain line uptime and prevent delays. Sanitation, GMPs & Workplace Standards • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas —including dock, staging, freezer, and aisles., • Participate in daily 5S and cleaning activities, including pallet staging, debris removal, and equipment wipe-downs., • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards at all times, including handwashing, PPE, allergen control, and product segregation. Qualifications Education & Experience • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required., • Previous warehouse, material handling, or cold storage experience preferred., • Forklift certification or previous powered industrial truck operation experience preferred. Physical Requirements Mobility & Endurance • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the majority of the shift., • Work full shifts (8–12 hours) in a physically demanding warehouse environment., • Climb in and out of forklifts safely. Physical Strength • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently., • Safely maneuver pallets, materials, and equipment in slippery spaces., • Perform repetitive tasks such as scanning, lifting, stacking, and loading/unloading. Manual Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills • Maintain reliable hand-eye coordination to safely handle products and operate equipment., • Grip, grasp, and manipulate shrink wrap, pallet straps, scannerdevices, and paperwork. Visual Acuity • Read labels, work orders, and inventory documents accurately with or without correction., • Scan barcodes and monitor equipment displays to ensure accuracy. Hearing Acuity & Responsiveness in Communication • Hear and respond to instructions, alarms, and equipment signals in a warehouse environment with or without correction., • Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and supervisors, including via radios or electronic devices. Temperature Tolerance • Work in freezer environments at –20°ree;F for extended periods of time (with PPE provided)., • Transition between freezer, cooler, and ambient warehouse environments as needed. Situational Awareness • Remain alert around powered equipment, moving pallets, and co -workers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) • Properly wear and maintain company-issued PPE, including freezer gear, gloves, boots, and other equipment as required. Work Environment The Freezer Material Handler works in a warehouse environment with exposure to a range of conditions, including extended periods in –20°ree;F freezer areas and cooler storage warehouse temperatures. The role involves working around moving equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as frequent interaction with production staff, warehouse teammates, and drivers. Noise levels can vary from moderate to high, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
