Experienced Commercial Door & Dock Technician

Job Description DELIVER SOLUTIONS THAT MATTER. MOST TECHNICIANS FIX WHAT'S BROKEN. You find what everyone else missed. DuraServ is looking for experienced technicians who diagnose with precision, install with pride, and own the outcome. Are You the One They Call When It Has to Be Done Right? Commercial dock and door systems are not optional infrastructure. When a loading dock goes down, a distribution center stops moving. When a high-speed door fails, a cold chain breaks. When the job has to be done right — the first time, on site, under pressure — that's when your experience matters most. At DuraServ, experienced technicians are the core of the operation. You'll work independently, own complex service calls and installations, and be trusted to make technical decisions in the field without someone standing over your shoulder. You're not just a wrench — you're the reason the customer's facility keeps running. If you've earned that level of trust somewhere else — and you're ready to bring it somewhere it will be recognized — let's talk. What You'll Own The Technical Work • Install, service, and maintain commercial dock and door equipment to manufacturer standards — rolling doors, sectional doors, dock levelers, and related systems, • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting across a wide range of equipment types — you diagnose root causes, not symptoms, • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate brackets, mounts, and installation hardware as needed, • Read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to guide diagnostics and repairs accurately The Ownership • Maintain a safe, clean job site and comply with all OSHA safety policies, PPE requirements, and fall protection standards — no shortcuts, no exceptions, • Document all service activity with precision — work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance, • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing real-time job status updates and explaining additional service needs without overselling, • Support teammates on larger installations and remain flexible to changing schedules — you understand that the team wins or loses together Who You Are You don't guess. You diagnose. You don't patch. You fix. And when you're done, the system runs better than before you arrived. • A true problem-solver — you find root causes and deliver lasting solutions, not temporary fixes that bring a callback, • Technically fluent — hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and comfortable with welding, hydraulics, and fabrication, • Self-managed — you run your day, your tools, and your job site like a professional without waiting to be told, • Physically capable — regular fieldwork in varying outdoor conditions, frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds, • Customer-facing confident — you communicate complex technical information clearly and represent DuraServ with professionalism on every call, • A competitor — you take pride in being the technician who handles the jobs others can't, and you don't leave a job site until it's right Education & Experience Required • Valid, current state-issued driver's license — field travel to customer sites is daily, • Ability to meet physical demands: regular fieldwork outdoors, frequent ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly Preferred • High School Diploma or equivalent — trade school certificate or diploma accepted and valued, • Hands-on experience with welding, mechanical systems, hydraulics, or electrical work, • 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial dock and door systems — including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, dock levelers, dock seals and shelters, and related equipment. This is the line that separates an experienced technician from an apprentice. What's in It for You • Competitive hourly pay commensurate with your experience and skill level, • Autonomy and trust — you're given the tools and the freedom to do your job the right way, • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match, • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, • Premium tools, ongoing paid training, and manufacturer certifications, • A high-performance team environment — no slackers, no shortcuts, no one dragging down the standard you've built your career on, • Clear advancement track — technical excellence at DuraServ leads to leadership opportunities for those who want them A Note to the Right Technician. If you've been in a shop or on a crew where your skill was taken for granted — where the standard was "good enough" and the best technicians got the same treatment as the worst ones — this is a different environment. DuraServ's field technicians are the company's reputation on every job site. We hire people who take that seriously — and we back them up with the tools, training, and team they need to deliver. Deliver solutions that matter. That's not a slogan. It's the standard. APPLY NOW — Bring Your Experience. Own the Work. Hit Apply. Show us what you've worked on and what you're built for.
