The national transaction tax team includes more than 40 specialists dedicated to delivering high-quality advisory work to acquisitive corporates and private equity investors. With strong growth ambitions and an increasingly busy pipeline, the team is now seeking a Manager who can take a hands-on role in delivering projects, strengthening relationships, and supporting junior colleagues. This role requires a tax professional with experience in tax due diligence (buy side and sell side) and tax structuring. You will work closely with other tax specialists, such as VAT and employment taxes, and with colleagues in transaction services to deliver well-rounded, commercial advice. Technical excellence, an ability to think commercially, and strong communication skills are key to success. As a Transaction Taxes Manager, you will: • Deliver buy side and sell side tax due diligence assignments, preparing high-quality reports and communicating findings clearly, • Support on tax structuring projects, working closely with colleagues across tax, corporate finance, and advisory, • Identify risks and support senior team members in managing them effectively, • Develop strong working relationships with clients, responding promptly and professionally to needs, and keeping stakeholders fully updated throughout engagements, • Provide input into legal documentation and financial models to ensure tax implications are fully considered, • Mentor and review the work of junior staff, playing an active role in their development, • Contribute to business development by identifying cross-selling opportunities and building your own internal and external network, • Support the development of key relationships, particularly across private equity and acquisitive corporates, • Contribute to wider team strategy, including opportunities such as post-deal advisory, exit readiness, and ongoing commercial improvements Requirements: • Strong, up-to-date technical knowledge across corporate tax, with exposure to transaction matters, • Demonstrable experience in tax due diligence or transaction related work, • Project management skills and experience supervising others, • The ability to develop relationships with senior client stakeholders, • Experience working with legal advisers and other transaction specialists, • A recognised professional qualification such as CTA or ACA (or equivalent), or relevant experience Benefits: • Health and Wellness programmes, • Holiday benefit scheme, • Private medical, • Hybrid working For more information on this role, please contact Ben Jones at Rutherford Cross.
