Job Description INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN II - KEY WEST, FLORIDA Salary Range: $25-28 per hour depending upon experience and education. Monitors their performances, diagnoses, and solves their problems. Position Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments, • Installs, assembles, and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration, • Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required, • Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice; implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required, • Maintain network run sheet, scanner maintenance and network monitoring, • Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services, • Assists in instructing staff in the use of standard business and administrative software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; provides instruction or written documentation where required, • Assists with the planning, design, research, and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary, • Works with vendors to resolve hardware operating system issues; research and tests possible solutions and implements solutions, • Analyzes bugs in system and application software; research and tests possible solutions; implements solutions, • Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager Requirements and Responsibilities: • 4+ years hands-on technical experience, • 2 years' college or Vocational-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field or combination of experience and/or IT certifications., • Attainment of a relevant technical certification such as MCP track, A+, Network +, MTA or another Windows desktop OS, • 1+ year general computer installation, maintenance, and repair experience., • Demonstration of use of those skills for at least 6 months after. Primary Responsibilities include: • User provisioning, • End user hardware installs/repairs, • End User software installs, • Help desk level 1 and 2 troubleshooting, • ATM support, • Documentation of support solutions, • Service Request ticket fulfillment, • Advanced end user hardware/installs/repairs, • Level 1 and 2 phone/conferencing system troubleshooting, • Monitoring servers, • After hours on-call support for branches, • Project work as assigned, • Restores files, • Group policy maintenance, • Monitoring network, • Patch management for workstations, • File transfers and workflows, • Phone/Conferencing system maintenance Competencies: • Experience with Computer hardware, software, and peripherals such as central processing units, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, printers, plotters, and modems, • Knowledge of procedures for installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing applicable software, hardware, and peripherals, • Knowledge of principles, practices, hardware, and software related to the establishment and maintenance of LAN's and WAN's, • Aware of techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users., • Flexible and highly motivated team member, • Work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment, • Good communication skills to provide excellent service to our valued customers, • Possess excellent listening skills, • Possess excellent organizational skills, • Possess excellent time management skills Required Education & Experience: • 1 to 2 years' college or vocational-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field or combination of experience and/or IT certifications., • Dependent on Level Essential Job Functions: The employee will be required to travel to multiple locations to accomplish their responsibilities. The employee will be required to have reliable transportation using either their personal vehicle and expense the mileage or utilizing the company vehicle if available and approved to do so. A driver's license is preferred, however, if the employee does not have a driver's license, they can leverage other forms of transportation such as public transportation or ride share services The employee will be frequently lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching 40 percent of the time. The employee will be required to organize and coordinate schedules and work orders for multiple locations.
