JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Diesel Technician Job Reports To: Shop Foremen Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Full-Time or Part-Time: Full Time Job Summary: Position with primary responsibility for the diagnosis and repairing of customer vehicles. Essential Job Functions: • Determine cause of malfunction; use manufactures approved troubleshooting guides, test drive, or refer to manufactures on-line or printed service manuals as necessary., • Promote sales of labor, parts, and accessories to meet customer needs., • Perform requested labor operations using recommended procedures, tools and equipment., • Document work performed and applicable technical information., • Note additional needed work and obtain approval before proceeding., • Clean all parts that have been worked on and keep customers vehicles clean., • Maintain housekeeping and organization of personal work area., • Maintain tools and equipment., • Order parts according to dealership procedures., • Tag all warranty parts and return all dirty cores to Parts in a timely manner., • Perform repairs in a timely manner set by the manufactures standard repair time guidelines. Job Summary The installation technician ensures proper and safe installation of all equipment. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Serving the companys clients through expert installation of replacement systems. Replacements represent a large percent of the companys total business and therefore it is imperative that the company has an excellent reputation for quality installations. Take pride in every installation that you do. Let the client know what you did for them that other companies dont usually do. Show the client through the quality of your work that your company offers superior service and quality., • Wear floor savers while in the clients home. Use drop cloths to protect the clients floors while performing an installation. Always maintain a neat work area where you are working., • Re-check each aspect of an installation before leaving the job to prevent unnecessary callbacks after the job is finished. Use theInstallation Excellence Formfor re-checking., • Always explain the system to the client when finished with an installation and make sure that they are 100% satisfied with the work., • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving, and make sure that the assistant installer is also working safely and neatly., • Maintain a production level minimum as determined by management and the annual plan., • Perform full system change-outs in an average of one day or less., • Trucks must be neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times.
