Reporting directly to the Controller, this hands-on leadership role oversees a team of professionals managing all aspects of Accounts Payable operations and related special projects. Accounts Payable Manager Key Responsibilities: • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable team, including assigning work, providing training and feedback, conducting performance reviews, and assisting with hiring decisions., • Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable function, including invoice routing, coding, and entry into the ERP system., • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with staff, vendors, and internal departments., • Manage vendor disbursements, ensuring timely and accurate payments via check, ACH, or wire, while balancing cash flow needs and invoice due dates., • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams., • Implement third-party automation solutions to streamline billing and payment workflows., • Support month-end close, reconciliations, and audits, including preparation of journal entries and related documentation., • Enhance internal controls, accounting systems, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency., • Review and approve vouchers, employee expense reports, and vendor payments., • Manage payments for large capital purchases and ensure all payment schedules and documentation requirements are met., • Assist plant locations with training, receiving issues, and vendor payment questions., • Continuously evaluate processes for improvement opportunities and prepare reports as needed. Accounts Payable Manager Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required., • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or related accounting functions., • 2-3+ years of management experience with direct reports in an accounting or AP department., • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or wholesale environment (packaging industry experience preferred)., • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX and Concur experience a plus)., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis., • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills., • Proven ability to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency., • High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
