Job Description Optician – Temp Opportunity (Will Train!) Location: Clinic setting Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (Off every Friday!) Duration: 3–4 month temporary assignment Trinity is seeking an Optician to join a busy and patient-focused optometry team. This is a great short-term opportunity for someone with optical experience or someone eager to learn. Training is available for the right candidate. What You’ll Do: • Measure pupillary distances (PDs) and segment heights to ensure proper lens placement, • Assist patients with frame and lens selection for comfort and vision needs, • Submit eyeglass orders daily and pick up completed orders, • Manage and maintain optical inventory at multiple clinic locations, • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments, • Process payments and discuss eyewear pricing and options with patients, • Perform minor eyewear repairs and adjustments, • Educate patients on eyewear care and maintenance, • Prepare patients for exams, including visual acuity testing and collecting medical history, • Work closely with optometrists and the optometry team to ensure accurate prescriptions and smooth clinic operations, • Provide excellent customer service and a positive patient experience, • High school diploma or GED required, • 2–3 years of experience in an optometry or ophthalmology office preferred, but not required, • Willing to train the right candidate, • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused #MED TRINITY EMPLOYMENT SPECIALISTS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER See the great things people are saying by checking out our Google reviews, along with our Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter. Assist client with inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses. Assist client with selecting frames. Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription. Prepare work order for optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames. Verify exactness of finished lens spectacles. Adjust frame and lens position to fit client. May shape or reshape frames. Includes contact lens opticians., • Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices., • Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications., • Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with clients' vocational and avocational visual requirements., • Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs., • Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
