\n • Established desk, uncapped earning potential\n, • Potential pathway to visa sponsorship\n, • Incredible coastal and mountain lifestyle\n\n Experienced Recruitment Consultant | Make the Move to Christchurch, New Zealand \n Ready to swap the UK commute for a thriving recruitment career, beaches within 20 minutes and weekends in the Southern Alps? \n Tyler Wren is looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our Christchurch team. \n This is a genuine opportunity to combine a successful recruitment career with a lifestyle that is difficult to replicate in the UK. \n You will not be starting from scratch in a foreign country. You will join an established specialist consultancy with recognised market presence, warm client relationships, active talent networks and genuine support to build a high performing desk. \n Why Christchurch? \n We are not going to pretend this is a holiday. It is a career move. \n However, Christchurch gives you the opportunity to build that career in a city where life outside work is genuinely different. \n You can finish work and be at Sumner Beach in around 20 minutes, head into the Port Hills for a mountain bike ride, or spend the weekend skiing at Mount Hutt or exploring the Southern Alps. \n Christchurch has a growing city centre with excellent restaurants, bars, craft breweries, coffee shops and Riverside Market, while the outdoors are never far away. \n Canterbury gives you easy access to surfing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking and some of New Zealand's best outdoor destinations, including Banks Peninsula, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura. \n It is also a relatively affordable New Zealand city, with a wide range of rental accommodation and new developments. \n The UK Connection \n Moving to the other side of the world is a big decision, which is why having people around you who have done it themselves matters. \n Our Christchurch Manager, Ben Holloway and one of our Directors both moved to New Zealand from the UK. \n You will have people around you who understand the move, the differences in working culture, settling into Christchurch and everything that comes with building a life in New Zealand. \n There is also no shortage of familiar accents and British banter in the office. \n Your Recruitment Career \n This is not a generalist recruitment role. Tyler Wren specialises in high value professional services recruitment across: \n\n • Legal: New Zealand and Australia\n, • Accounting: New Zealand and Australia\n, • Banking, Finance, Insurance & Risk: New Zealand\n\n Your market will be aligned with your existing recruitment experience, commercial strengths and interests. \n We are particularly interested in recruiters who know how to build genuine client relationships, develop candidate networks and run a commercially successful desk. \n Why Tyler Wren? \n\n • Established platform: You will have an existing business, market presence, client relationships and talent networks to build from. This is not a cold start.\n, • Genuine autonomy: You are an experienced recruiter, so we treat you like one. You will have ownership of your desk, relationships and working day without unnecessary micromanagement.\n, • Uncapped earning potential: A competitive base salary combined with an uncapped commission structure gives you the opportunity to build your earnings as your desk grows.\n, • Modern technology: You will have access to JobAdder, LinkedIn Recruiter and AI recruitment tools to help you source, manage and develop your market efficiently.\n, • Flexibility: Hybrid working and glide time give you flexibility around when and where you work, provided you deliver the outcomes expected of you.\n\n What We Offer \n\n • Competitive base salary\n, • Uncapped commission\n, • Potential pathway to long term visa sponsorship for the right person\n, • Hybrid working and glide time\n, • Paid birthday leave\n, • Quarterly bonus days off\n, • NZ$600 annual cellphone allowance\n, • Employee Assistance Programme\n, • Annual flu vaccination\n\n Moving from the UK \n We understand that relocating internationally comes with practical questions. \n If you are eligible to work in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa, this can provide a straightforward way to make the initial move. \n Once you are established in the role, we can look at longer term visa options for the right person who wants to build a permanent career with Tyler Wren. \n We are looking for someone who wants to make Christchurch home and build something lasting. \n What We Are Looking For \n You will be an experienced Recruitment Consultant with a proven ability to manage and grow a specialist recruitment desk. \n Legal, accounting, finance, banking, insurance or risk recruitment experience would be ideal, although we are open to recruiters from other specialist professional services markets. \n More importantly, you will be someone who: \n\n • Builds strong, long term client relationships\n, • Knows how to develop and manage a candidate network\n, • Is commercially minded and motivated by results\n, • Works independently without needing to be micromanaged\n, • Is resilient and self motivated\n, • Wants to build something rather than simply maintain an existing desk\n, • Is genuinely excited about living and working in New Zealand\n\n Life in Christchurch \n Imagine finishing work and being on the beach 20 minutes later. Imagine having the Port Hills on your doorstep for an evening mountain bike ride. \n Imagine skiing at Mount Hutt on Saturday and being back in Christchurch for dinner. Or taking a weekend trip to Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs or Banks Peninsula without having to organise a flight. \n A proper city. A great outdoor lifestyle. Short commutes. Easy access to the coast. Mountains within reach. More space and time outside work. \n That is the lifestyle you are moving for. The recruitment career is what makes the move worthwhile. \n Ready to Explore the Move? \n You do not need an updated CV or a formal application to start the conversation. \n If you are an experienced recruiter in the UK and have ever thought “I could actually live in New Zealand”, let's have a conversation. \n It will be informal, confidential and with no obligation. \n Get in touch to discuss what a move to Christchurch and Tyler Wren could look like. \n Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

Humly is an education recruitment company that connects schools with teaching and support staff. The business operates across seven UK entities and Sweden and is under Swedish ownership. Humly's UK finance lead begins maternity leave at the end of September 2026 and will be away for the whole of the 2026 year-end close and audit cycle. This role holds the operational and technical finance line in the UK for that period, with a four week handover before the leave begins. You will own the numbers day to day. That means month-end and year-end close, the external audit, cash and treasury execution, the budget and forecast build, and the technical accounting behind the group and cross-border position. You will also line-manage the four-person UK finance team. Financial strategy, board and lender communication, covenant policy and the approval of related-party and above-threshold transactions remain with the Group CFO. This is a hands-on Financial Controller position. The person appointed will close the books, lead the external audit and manage the team without day to day supervision, and will be the senior finance presence in the UK business and the first point of escalation for the team. Genuine technical confidence matters here, across FRS 102, group consolidation inputs, and intercompany and covenant mechanics. It is not a CFO or Finance Director appointment. Strategy, board narrative, lender relationships and covenant policy sit with the Group CFO. Neither is it a processing role. The team handles the transactional work, while this position reviews it, exercises judgement and signs it off. The expectation is straightforward. The finance function should run better at the end of the cover than at the start. Year-end close and audit. Lead the 2026 year-end close from February to June, including statutory accounts, in-year adjustments and corporation tax. Run the external audit end to end as the primary contact, from the autumn interim through to full-year completion. Month-end and technical accounting. Own month-end closure and the monthly reporting cycle, the nominal code structure across Xero and its mapping to BrightAnalytics and Staffology, right-of-use lease calculations, and the implementation of relevant UK reporting and payroll changes. Cash, treasury and working capital. Keep sufficient cash in each entity within CFO policy, maintain a rolling cashflow to a three-to-six-month forward view, plan UK intercompany and Sweden to UK transfers with the Finance Lead in Sweden, prepare payment runs for authorisation, and support escalated credit control. Budgeting and forecasting. Build the budget and forecast models, own the assumption set and its documentation, and provide the underlying analysis behind the CFO's board narrative. Financial Control and Compliance. Maintain robust financial controls and accounting standards. Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, Companies House and statutory obligations. Monitor corporation tax payment deadlines and other statutory submissions. Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting finance, payroll and employment, implementing changes when required.
