Bus Franchising is one of the most ambitious transport initiatives ever undertaken in our region. The WMCA are at a pivotal stage in shaping the future of bus franchising in the West Midlands, and we're looking for skilled and proactive Business Analysts, for a period of 12-months, to play a key role in this transformation. This is a unique opportunity to help define what bus franchising will look like across the region - shaping processes, ways of working, and service delivery models from the ground up. Working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders across a wide range of functions, you will gather requirements, facilitate discussions, and translate business needs into practical, deliverable solutions. You will support a broad range of areas including commercial, customer experience, franchise provision, and Digital and Data and be confident leading workshops, engaging stakeholders, and driving conversations that help shape decisions that move the programme forward. This role goes beyond traditional business analysis - it's about contributing to a major, region-wide transformation that hasn't been delivered at this scale within WMCA before. You'll play an active role in supporting the successful delivery of the Bus Franchise Programme, helping to design and embed the processes and systems that will underpin bus franchising across the West Midlands. • Use data modelling to create and analyse suggestions for strategic and operational improvements, • Evaluate internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes to recommend business and process flow improvements, • Provide an active internal consultancy in Business Analysis, • Support the Project Manager in creating and maintaining standards and ways of working, • Understand the organisation's ecosystems and its inter-dependencies, • Collect, understand and document business requirements and translate these into functional specifications and detailed test plans, • Perform route to market and implementation planning activities, • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback, • Extensive BA experience, • Experience of business process modelling and optimisation tools and techniques, • Experience of supporting transition from the As-Is position to the To-Be state, • Proven experience of identifying potential solutions and appropriateness of emerging technologies, • A track record of building rapport and excellent relationships with a range of stakeholders, • Experience of identifying and evaluating and mitigating issues & risks, • Excellent analytical skills, • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, • Ability to work under broad direction within challenging and unpredictable environments, influencing strategic decision making Applying for a role with WMCA is straightforward.
