The Role KEY OBJECTIVE Reporting to the Operations Director, the Sales Director will lead the external sales team of Ehrco and will develop external sales strategies for the business, in conjunction with the Operations Director. The Sales Director is an active member of Ehrco Ltd management team, participating in management events and meetings for the business. You will have autonomy to plan your own workload within the guidelines set by Operations Director and company goals. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Sales & Customers • To oversee relationships with major customers and the continuous drive for new business, also ensuring we understand all droppers., • To lead on key accounts and ensure that these are given sufficient focus within your designated region and across the whole of Ehrco customer base., • To contribute to sales targets and to work to achieve these and where necessary adapt to changes in the marketplace., • To work collaboratively with the Operations Director to help create and deliver planned product and service campaigns as part of an annual Ehrco Marketing plan., • To take an active part in the monthly management, and other, meetings at Ehrco offices, reporting on key activities of the external sales team and giving constructive feedback to the rest of the business on customer service improvements., • To work closely with the Office Sales Manager and the Warehouse Manager with regards to large enquiries, orders and any issues arising., • To promote the Ehrco product range., • To identify opportunities for further products Ehrco could add to range and help with the development process of such products., • To implement the 3-year plan and any future strategic plans., • Overnight stays may be required when attending company events and travelling long distances to see customers. Staff Management • To be responsible for the stimulation of sales activities by managing the external sales team and working closely with the internal sales team., • To manage all aspects of work of the external sales team, ensuring compliance with the Employee Handbook and that any under performance is dealt with promptly., • To monitor and supervise the pipeline of opportunities being worked on by the external sales team – with a 50/50 focus on new business and existing customers., • To conduct joint calls with the external sales engineers into their key accounts, reporting back on any development needs as part of your observations., • To have regular, structured, documented reviews with direct reports, ensuring company strategy, policy and procedure is complied with., • To ensure that your staff comply with company guidelines on Health & Safety and ensure the wellbeing of your staff., • To assess and implement any training required for the team for needs identified during review meetings. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS • At least 75% of working time to be spent out with customers, with remainder of time working in Ehrco office or from home (as agreed with Operations Director)., • Be available each week for an activity review meeting with Operations Director (online or face-to-face)., • Ensure that Google Diary and CRM records are accurately updated by yourself and your team. KEY SKILLS REQUIRED • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the hydraulic hose and fittings market., • Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling into a customer base that includes the distribution and MRO sectors. Experience dealing with OEMs is an advantage., • Good working knowledge of the UK Hose & Fittings Market., • Proven experience managing an external sales team., • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and work with all team members., • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage other team members., • Clear understanding of the Ehrco product range, goals, and strategy., • Proficient IT skills, including experience with CRM, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
