Fawkes & Reece are pleased to be working with a leading national main contractor to recruit an experienced Carpentry / Joinery with a view to becoming a Passive Fire Supervisor on a permanent basis. The business delivers high-profile RC Frame projects across the North West and Scotland, including student accommodation, hotels, offices and high-end residential developments. This role is well suited to a time-served Carpenter or Joiner who is willing to learn and be trained in fire safety and passive fire protection, looking to work on long-term regional projects rather than constant UK-wide travel. The Role You will join the Aftercare Team, taking responsibility for supervising snagging, remedial and maintenance works, with a particular emphasis on fire safety–critical carpentry and joinery elements. You will oversee site operatives and specialist subcontractors, ensuring all works are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities • To work with and Supervise carpentry operatives on site, • Focus on the implementation of Passive Fire Elements, • Report directly to the Site Manager / Project Manager, • Plan and coordinate snagging and remedial works with a strong focus on fire safety, • Inspect fire safety–related carpentry works to ensure compliance, • Ensure all works meet Health & Safety, Building Regulations and fire strategy requirements, • Maintain high standards of workmanship across all carpentry and joinery elements, • Identify defects and coordinate effective remedial solutions Fire Safety & Carpentry Scope Works will primarily involve fire-related carpentry and joinery, including: • Installation, inspection and remediation of fire doors, frames and ironmongery, • Fire-rated walls, partitions and ceiling systems, • Fire stopping associated with carpentry penetrations, • Maintaining compartmentation and overall building fire integrity, • Coordinating with sprinkler and alarm contractors to ensure full compliance Essential Requirements • Qualified Carpenter / Joiner, • Experience on multi-storey xrnqpay or high-rise RC Frame projects, • An understanding of passive fire protection and fire safety compliance, • Background working on student accommodation, residential or hotel schemes, • SSSTS or SMSTS, • CSCS, • Willingness to travel across the North West and Scotland Benefits • Permanent position, • Immediate start available, • Salary: £30000– £40000 per annum, • Long-term, stable workload within the region, • Opportunity to work on major fire safety–critical aftercare projects
