Group Financial Accountant Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (38.75 hours per week) Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (Hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 from home) Salary: Competitive Salary Package At Dignity , we support families at some of the most important moments in their lives. The Role We're looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Reporting team , playing a key role in delivering high-quality group reporting, statutory accounts, and technical accounting across Dignity. This is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a complex group structure, partnering with auditors and stakeholders, and owning key accounting processes end-to-end. You'll sit at the centre of Group Finance, contributing to board-level reporting, statutory compliance, investor reporting, and future-focused projects, including the potential move back to IFRS. What You'll Be Doing Preparing Group consolidated financial statements and supporting quarterly investor reporting. Managing group consolidations , intercompany eliminations, and subsidiary submissions. Leading on technical accounting areas , including IFRS 9, IFRS 16, impairments (IAS 36) and FRS 102. Owning the CGU and goodwill impairment testing process , including modelling and audit papers. Maintaining debt schedules , accounting for interest, amortisation and covenant reporting. Acting as a key contact for external auditors , managing audit delivery and technical queries. Supporting the preparation of Board and Audit Committee papers. Working closely with FP&A and operational finance teams across the Group. What We're Looking For We're open to different backgrounds, but you'll need strong technical foundations and confidence working in a group environment. You'll need: Full qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) Solid experience in group reporting, statutory accounts, and consolidation. Working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. The ability to explain complex financial issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders. A proactive, organised approach with high attention to detail. Nice to have: Audit background (Big 4 or large firm exposure advantageous). Experience in regulated, service-based or multi-site organisations. Exposure to investor or lender reporting.
