Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, resilient PSHE & English Teacher to join a specialist alternative provision in North London, supporting secondary-aged students who are unable to access mainstream education. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a teacher passionate about re-engaging vulnerable young people and helping them rebuild confidence, resilience, and a positive relationship with learning. The Role You will teach students aged 11-16 in small groups, many of whom have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, or disrupted educational backgrounds. A flexible, patient, and relationship-focused approach is essential. The role combines PSHE leadership with support for English and literacy development. Key responsibilities: • Deliver engaging PSHE lessons covering wellbeing, relationships, personal development, and life skills, • Support the delivery of English, improving students' reading, writing, and communication skills, • Plan and adapt differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of needs and abilities, • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and personal growth, • Build strong, trusting relationships to re-engage students in learning, • Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and support teams to ensure consistent student supportThe Ideal Candidate, • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, • Experience teaching PSHE, English, or related secondary subjects, • Experience working with SEMH learners, behavioural needs, or in alternative provision (highly desirable), • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, consistent approach, • Empathetic, resilient, and committed to supporting young people, • Competitive pay rates, • Ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities, • A dedicated consultant specialising in SEND and alternative provision roles Apply today or contact Tradewind Recruitment to learn more about this opportunity.
