Job Description Job Title: CNC Machinist - $21 to $35 AN HOUR - WEEKLY PAY - START ASAP Job Description The employee operates CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components from metal and bearing materials. This role focuses on machine setup and operation rather than programming, but requires the ability to read CNC programs and understand G and M code. The position involves working with both vertical and horizontal machines, using a variety of tools to machine small, high-precision parts used in hose assemblies. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision metal and bearing components according to specifications., • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC programs to determine machining requirements., • Operate both vertical and horizontal CNC machines to complete production runs efficiently and accurately., • Review and understand G and M code within CNC programs to verify correct operations and sequences., • Use and change appropriate tooling such as turning tools, grooving tools, and threading tools to achieve required dimensions and finishes., • Perform CNC machine setups, including installing and aligning workpieces, fixtures, and tooling., • Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot basic machining issues to maintain quality and productivity., • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometres to inspect parts and verify that dimensions meet tolerance requirements., • Perform basic fitting and assembly tasks as needed to complete components or subassemblies., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a modern machining environment., • Minimum of 5 years of CNC setup experience., • Proven experience operating both vertical and horizontal CNC machines., • Hands-on experience with CNC lathes and mills in a production environment., • Ability to read and understand CNC programs, including G and M code., • Experience operating Fanuc-controlled machines., • Strong tool knowledge, including turning tools, groovers, and threaders., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings., • Proficiency in CNC operation and setup, including workholding and tooling setup., • Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometres., • Experience with machining, fitting, and basic assembly work., • Experience working with small metal and bearing components is an advantage., • Experience in a clean, high-precision machining or fabrication environment., • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production setting. Work Environment You work in an air-conditioned, very clean machining environment with no grease or grime, focusing on small, precise metal and bearing parts used in hose products. The facility operates with a team of about 25 people and emphasizes a supportive, family-oriented culture. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the first shift, and Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. for the second shift. The dress code requires pants (no shorts), a T-shirt with additional layers as needed, and clothing without profanity. Steel-toe footwear is required at all times on the shop floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brandon, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $35.00/hr.
