Job Description Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk (Remote) Department: Accounting Date: April 2026 Employment Type: Part-Time (20–25 hours per week) Position Summary The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes in a remote work environment, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments. This role supports the accounting team and contributes to the efficient financial operations of a construction company. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Functions • Download invoices from vendor portals and ensure proper documentation is maintained, • Accurately enter all invoices into the accounts payable system (Computer Ease), • Request approval for invoices exceeding $1,000 in accordance with company approval limits, • Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, • Reconcile company credit card statements and obtain missing receipts or invoices as needed, • Scan, upload, and electronically file all accounts payable documentation to the appropriate vendor/supplier files, • Process weekly employee reimbursements in a timely manner, • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, • Apply for, renew, and maintain business licenses for all job site locations, • Receive training and assist with additional accounting functions as experience grows Administrative & Office Support • Order business cards and stationery, as needed, • Provide support on special projects and additional tasks as assigned by management Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in accounting or finance preferred, • 1+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related industry • Familiarity with accounting software (experience with Computer Ease is a plus), • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively, • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general remote work tools Compensation & Schedule • Part-time, non-exempt hourly position (20–25 hours per week), • Schedule: Monday through Friday (hours to be determined), • Pay range: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, • Eligible for overtime in accordance with California state law, • Bonus program available based on company profitability after a 60-day introductory period Remote Work Requirements • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, distraction-free home office workspace, • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while working remotely, • Availability during regular business hours for communication and collaboration, • Use of company-provided or approved equipment and software, as applicable Remote Work Policy • Work Hours & Timekeeping: Employees must accurately record all hours worked, including start and end times and meal periods, in accordance with company policy and California wage and hour laws. All overtime must be pre-approved by a supervisor. • Meal and Rest Break Compliance: Employees are responsible for taking compliant, uninterrupted meal and rest breaks in accordance with California law and accurately recording meal periods. • Equipment & Technology Use: Employees may be provided with company equipment or required to use approved personal equipment. All equipment must be used for business purposes and maintained in good working condition. • Expense Reimbursement: The company will reimburse employees for all necessary and reasonable business expenses, including a portion of internet or other required remote work expenses, in accordance with California Labor Code Section 2802 and company policy. • Information Security & Confidentiality: Employees must follow all company data security protocols, including secure internet usage, password protection, and proper handling of confidential financial and employee information. Printing of sensitive documents should be limited and securely stored or destroyed when no longer needed. • Workspace Safety: Employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and ergonomic home workspace. Work-related injuries must be reported immediately in accordance with company policy. • Performance & Availability: Employees are expected to remain responsive during scheduled work hours via email, phone, or company communication platforms and meet productivity and performance expectations. • Policy Compliance: Remote employees must comply with all company policies, including those outlined in the employee handbook, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Work Environment & Physical Requirements • Remote, home office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as data entry and keyboarding, • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (if handling mailed documents or supplies), • Regular attendance and punctuality are required California Compliance Statements • At-Will Employment: Employment with the company is at-will.
