Following its recent acquisition of a leading investment research boutique, the business has expanded its capabilities into market and asset-allocation intelligence, creating a broader and more powerful platform for clients across sectors. With strong momentum and growing enterprise adoption, the company is scaling its Financial Services practice and hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new-logo growth across corporate and retail banking, insurance, and fintech clients in the UK and Nordics. The Role – Senior Business Development Manager (Financial Services) This is a strategic, high-impact hunter role within the EMEA Sales function. You’ll focus on driving net-new business across the financial services sector, owning relationships from C-suite through to senior functional heads. You’ll sell to corporate and retail banks, insurers, fintechs, and more across the UK&I and Nordics, helping them leverage economic research, data, and forecasting to inform smarter lending, risk, and strategic decisions. Sales cycles typically run around three months, with deal sizes averaging in the mid five figures, and you’ll partner closely with Account Management to ensure a smooth handover and long-term client success. You will: • Lead new business efforts across the corporate and retail banking, insurance, and fintech segments within the UK & Nordics., • Build, manage, and convert a high-quality pipeline of subscription-based research and data deals., • Engage confidently with senior FS stakeholders, demonstrating an understanding of how macroeconomic data informs risk, compliance, and regulatory decisions., • Develop deep market knowledge and share insights to shape product and go-to-market strategy., • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, research, and marketing to enhance client engagement., • Represent the brand at industry events and forums, elevating its visibility in the FS ecosystem. Ideal Candidate: The ideal person will bring a blend of intellectual curiosity, commercial acumen, and proven success in selling to the FS sector. You’ll likely have: • Proven experience selling data, research, or analytics subscriptions into financial services -ideally corporate and retail banks, insurers, or fintechs., • Familiarity with banking regulation, risk, or compliance topics, highly desirable but not essential - and the ability to engage confidently with senior and technical stakeholders., • Interest or background in macroeconomics, policy, or financial research., • A hunter mindset — proactive, persistent, and motivated by closing new business., • Experience managing mid-length sales cycles (approx. 3 months) and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder deals., • Ability to collaborate in a hybrid environment (3 days per week in-office) while maintaining a self-starter attitude., • Experience across the UK and Ireland markets advantageous.
