What We Are Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: • A higher degree or PhD in an Optics/Photonics specialty, OR significant industrial experience in Optics., • ‘Hands-on’ experience with optical fiber and optical equipment., • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining lab-based optical test systems., • Proven ability to plan, execute, and analyse optical fiber systems and complex data, suggesting viable solutions., • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, capable of running multiple projects simultaneously. Highly Desirable: • Previous experience working with optical fiber sensing systems or polarisation maintaining fibers., • Knowledge of the fiber fabrication process, particularly MCVD., • Competency in coding languages: Python and VB.net.
