Role Overview Position: Year 1 Class Teacher (KS1)Start Date: September 2026 - July 2027Location: HaringeyPay: MPS 3-4 Inner London (£226.86 - £237.64 per day, PAYE)Contract: Full-time, full academic year Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for leading a Year 1 class and supporting pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1. Your duties will include: • Planning and delivering engaging and well-differentiated lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum, • Supporting pupils in the transition from EYFS to KS1, ensuring a smooth and consistent learning experience, • Delivering structured phonics sessions and supporting the development of early reading skills, • Monitoring, assessing, and tracking pupil progress, using outcomes to inform teaching and interventions, • Creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes independence and enthusiasm for learning, • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies with clear expectations and positive reinforcement, • Supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEN and EAL, • Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils, • Participating in school-wide activities, meetings, and the wider life of the schoolThe Ideal Candidate Will:, • Have solid KS1 teaching experience, ideally within a Year 1 setting, • Be confident delivering phonics and supporting early literacy development, • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and transition into KS1, • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills with a calm and consistent approach, • Be committed to raising attainment and supporting all pupils to succeed If you are looking to join a school where you will feel supported, valued, and able to make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
