Position Summary The Junior Accountant supports the Finance department by computing, processing, analyzing, recording and verifying data for use in maintaining accounting records. This position is also responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll. The successful candidate understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality and possess the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to: • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Responsible for accounts payable which includes preparing, coding and processing invoices, payments, and other financial transactions., • Responsible for accounts receivable, including deposits., • Reconcile credit card statements and ensure accurate coding., • Reconcile bank statements, identifying and resolving any discrepancies., • Research and resolve accounting issues as needed., • Assist with audit preparation and follow up., • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or 1-3 years related experience., • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment., • Strong team player with a dynamic, outgoing personality and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, is essential., • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word and Outlook; prior experience with ADP Workforcenow, SAP Concur, and Fund EZ preferred. Job Description Accountant Duties: ● Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded ● Maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable ● Assist Sr. Accountant in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines ● Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned ● Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed ● Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports ● Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings ● Assist with other accounting projects Additional Requirements: ● Proven experience as a junior accountant and or experienced accounting clerk ● Excellent organizing abilities ● Great attention to detail ● Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen ● Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices ● Excellent knowledge of relevant computer software (Microsoft Navision and Dynamics 360) ● accounting, finance or relevant field ● Troubleshooting and can work independently
