Overview/Context: Sizewell C (SZC) will be a next-of-a-kind nuclear power plant in Suffolk, England using the same technology and design as the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power plant under construction in Somerset. The SZC Project is engineering-led in order to secure SZC’s design replication strategy and a large part of the supply chain is being replicated from HPC. The Supply Chain directorate for SZC is now looking to establish its team of Supply Chain professionals responsible for the procurement/negotiation and subsequent commercial management of SZC’s main construction contracts. The construction contracts are categorised by Programme and are broadly: Equipment, Conventional Island, Nuclear Island, MEH, Main Civil Works and Enabling Works. Scope and Nature of Role: The Commercial Manager is commercially responsible, on any contract assigned to them, for all pre and post contract commercial issues relating to a contract on the SZC project. The Commercial Manager is an important role within the SZC Supply Chain Group with accountability to the Senior Supply Chain Manager for the successful commercial administration of one or more SZC contracts. This is a complex and major project for the organisation. The Change Lead will ensure the whole organisation, and its Finance System users are ready, trained and supported to adopt the new finance system and new finance processes. This role will ensure the Programme succeeds beyond the technical go-live date. The Change Lead will operate within a recovery phase of the Programme, and will be expected to work at pace, prioritising business readiness, adoption risk and go-live assurance over documentation-led change activity.
