Job DescriptionDescription: Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in either Westlake, TX or Merrimack, NH We have an excellent opportunity to join our client as a Site Reliability Engineer in a dynamic environment. This 12-month contract, with likelihood of extension, offers impact on cloud reliability, automation, observability, and incident management for large-scale systems within a stable, growth-oriented organization. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: • Lead production support readiness, availability, and resiliency for critical applications, batches, and infrastructure., • Define and implement practices in resiliency engineering, automation, observability, and chaos testing., • Operate and improve cloud-based platforms on AWS and Azure, including container orchestration with Kubernetes., • Manage incident response and on-call activities, including triage and root cause analysis under pressure., • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines and platform tooling using Jenkins, uDeploy, and related solutions., • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Catchpoint, and OpenTelemetry., • Solve stack-wide engineering issues across hardware, software, network, applications, and cloud providers., • Automate operational tasks with Ansible and Python; support web development with Django and JavaScript as needed., • Handle on-prem server fleet operations including security and patching oversight., • 5-8+ years supporting highly distributed multi-tier systems at scale., • Hands-on experience with public cloud environments, preferably AWS and Azure., • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration., • On-call experience running incidents and coordinating resolution., • Ability to troubleshoot on Unix/Linux with J2EE, WebSphere, Tomcat, and SQL., • Familiarity with ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management., • Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins and uDeploy., • Hands-on use of observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, and OpenTelemetry., • Proven ability to implement advanced observability practices at scale., • Experience operating, monitoring, logging, and alerting for distributed systems., • Proven experience maintaining scalability and resiliency in complex environments., • Experience in cloud development and migration on AWS and Azure with highly resilient platform operations., • Ability to triage and perform root cause analysis while making decisions under pressure., • Experience managing and interpreting large datasets using query and visualization tools., • Proficient communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders., • Experience performing chaos testing in production-like environments., • Experience with API testing tools such as SoapUI and Postman., • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as IAM, ARM, Terraform, and Chef., • Experience with Ansible, Python, Node, JavaScript, Jenkins, and Groovy., • Experience handling security and patching for on-prem server fleets and managing SSL certificates., • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technology-related field; Master’s degree is a plus., • AWS or Azure certifications (preferred).
