Job Description • Traveling to customers 80% of the time, sometimes 2 weeks at a time, including Mexico and Canada, • Comfortable with uploading new programs to robots and troubleshooting them, • Has been around robots in the past, doing installs (Not a controls engineer), • Would be with the paint robots, • Will be doing expense reports when not traveling, • At least 3 years of robotics The Field Service Engineer will support service of robots and robotic systems, primarily for paint and sealer applications, by providing technical assistance to customers and taking on responsibility for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing of robots and peripheral devices. The Engineer will also be responsible for supervising and providing training to Associate Field Service Engineers as necessary. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, problem-solver with a “service first” mindset who has experience with technology (paint and/or sealer systems) and is skilled in troubleshooting technical issues. Primary responsibilities will include: • Provide technical support to various parts including Hotline, training segments, and to the training of Associate Service Engineers., • Support phone pager assignments and shift schedule support for Service needs., • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems., • Troubleshoot problems and secure any needed parts as needed., • Repair, maintain, rework, or retrofit of product and equipment., • Complete timely documentation and reports (Installation and Service reports, SVMs, Punch list, MFSs, FFRs, MIRs, Expense, and Time Reports), • Coordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedule with Service Supervisor/Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and completion of service calls or projects., • Follow Engineering guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with the product specifications, laws and regulations., • Procure supplies, tooling and associated installation equipment., • Provide support on Installation, startup and debug of the system/unit being installed, mainly paint and sealer applications as necessary., • Create quotes for service and close Service Reports., • Travel to customer sites as required (~80%). Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education: • Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical education; or equivalent relevant experience., • Minimum of three years of experience working in a related environment with robotics integration, installation, or service repairs., • Experience with analyzing and solving service and robot installation problems., • Proven experience performing intricate repairs on mechanical and electrical items., • Ability to successfully work in a highly autonomous environment., • A valid driver’s license is required due to the travel required in this role. Additional Responsibilities: • Assist product development in testing new products., • Assist Paint lab activities as needed., • Support component rebuild and robot refurb or PM activities., • Assist in process improvement, • Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in related field, • Knowledge/experience in paint and/or sealer systems. Physical & Mental Requirements: • A large portion of time is spent at manufacturing sites:, • Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time and move throughout plant environments., • Must be able to lift up to 50-70 lbs., • Must be able to perform work on equipment mounted in often hard-to-access locations within an industrial facility., • Must be able to spend significant amounts of time walking and standing., • Paint environment is typically 2K and/or Solvent-based., • Must be able to work within potentially harsh industrial environments within the guidelines set forth in various OSHA Laws., • Ability to properly use hand tools (drill, punch, crimpers, torque wrench, etc.) and instrumentation (DVM, oscilloscope)., • Demonstrated willingness and ability to multi-task, to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota., • Ability to work overtime when required to meet special/critical deadlines., • Ability to travel to customer sites including overnight and on weekends as required by customer for extended periods of time and on short notice.Company DescriptionBranex Group is a Minority-owned Technical Staffing firm headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI.
