YOUR DAY TO DAY: We are seeking a results-driven, highly motivated Senior Sales Account Manager with a strong track record of winning new business, expanding strategic accounts, and closing complex opportunities within the U.S. Department of War (DoW) and Defense Industrial Base (DIB). This role is designed for a true hunter/closer who thrives in competitive environments, develops deep customer relationships, and executes disciplined pursuit strategies with DoW End User and Tier 1 defense primes and major integrators. The ideal candidate will bring technical credibility, strategic sales acumen, and demonstrated success selling high-reliability power electronics, RF power solutions, or mission-critical subsystems into defense platforms and programs. This position will play a key role in driving CPI Power Electronics’ growth in military, aerospace, and government markets by identifying new opportunities, shaping requirements, and securing long-term production contracts. YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO: • Serve as the lead sales and business development professional for assigned DoD and Tier 1 defense accounts., • Develop trusted relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors, • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with CPI Power Electronics’ product portfolio., • Develop and execute account plans, pursuit strategies, and win plans for priority programs., • Engage early with customers to influence requirements, specifications, and design-in decisions., • Lead proposal strategy, pricing input, and negotiation of major deals in coordination with engineering, operations, and leadership., • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, • Develop new business with new clients and identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas, • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts), • Prepare reports on account status, • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory, • U.S. Citizenship (required), • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, technology, or relevant field, • Proven work experience as a Sales Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or similar role, • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office, • Proven track record as a hunter and closer, with measurable revenue wins., • Demonstrated success selling to DoD and Tier 1 defense contractors., • Experience managing multi-year, multi-million-dollar opportunities., • Familiarity with defense acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS, and program lifecycles., • Proven ability to manage multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail, • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time, • Background in power electronics, RF power amplifiers, high-voltage systems, or mission-critical electronics., • Experience with radar, EW, or communications systems., • Existing relationships within Tier 1 primes or DoD program offices.
