Job Description We’re seeking an experienced welder and certified weld inspector to support our Indiana operations team by inspecting parts as part of our production process. Strong candidates will be detail-oriented, experienced working within a production team and are currently a CWI. What You’ll Be Doing: Demonstrates a strong ability to understand and communicate plans and instructions, relating to the Quality objectives of the RFC team. Monitors the process documentation, performs online audits, generates documents, coordinates projects, and works with suppliers and customers to maintain day to day operations. Trainer for good manufacturing practices and develops and reviews quality reports for the team. Prepares technical reports as result of test validations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. • Studies production floor weld issues., • Verify weld integrity, • Cut and etch, • Manual weld destruct., • 30% destruct test (cone and crush), • Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance’s relating to the products, process and quality system., • Redline Documentation as required by Quality Supervisor to allow production to continue., • MRB internal rejects as required by Quality Supervisor Review and sign-off on ECRs, and Drawings as required by Quality Supervisor., • Participates in all aspects of the Advanced Quality Planning Process including:, • Process FMEAs, • Control Plans/Inspection Plans and MIP’s., • Customer PPAPs or First Article Submittals., • Works within Team to develop and implement required gauging., • Responsible for training other technical personnel in use of Quality equipment and supports daily production needs., • Understanding of specific inspection methods, • Contacts with vendors, as required, to keep abreast of available product and technology and to work with specifics related to projects assigned., • Provides technical problem-solving expertise to production, as required., • Through shop-floor interaction with supervisors and data collection will assist manager by preparing reports, identifying production trends, and providing recommendations in:, • Any necessary department controls and procedures, • Reducing quality errors by identifying product defects and establishing corrective methods., • Document & prepare Quality part specific work instructions., • Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams., • Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment. Schedule: This position will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours but may occasionally work overtime on weekends. EXPERIENCE • Three years’ related experience and/or training in:, • Welding, weld inspection, manufacturing, quality inspection, • Metallurgical exposure, basic mechanical knowledge, • Blueprint reading, GDT knowledge, measuring tool application, etc. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES THAT ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED • Strong communication skills including ability to read, understand, communicates and train others on quality plans and instructions, • Technical skills including calibration of measuring instruments, blueprint reading, GD&T, etc., • Ability to effectively correspond or present information internally and externally, • Computer skills including MS Office and manufacturing software, quality tracking software EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or Equivalent, • Associate’s degree from Technical School preferred voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation, or RFC as we call it, supplies custom roll formed metal components into several industries including Aerospace, Construction, Material Handling, Off-Highway, Office Furniture, Solar and Transportation.
