Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with a keen eye for detail and a strong mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate will possess excellent coordination, manual dexterity, and a solid understanding of related mathematics and workplace regulations. You will be responsible for interpreting drawings, developing a logical sequence of operations, and laying out/marking steel for various tasks including cutting, burning, sawing, shearing, punching, rolling, bending, and straightening. Responsibilities • Operate machinery such as lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, iron workers, metal cutting saws, and various hand fabrication tools., • Interpret engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions to perform tasks accurately., • Perform tasks at customer job sites as required., • Ensure safety protocols are followed for yourself and fellow employees., • Engage in repetitive tasks while maintaining high-quality standards., • Mig welding, • Blueprint reading, • Fabrication techniques, • Experience with lathes, milling machines, and other related machinery, • Understanding of engineering drawings and technical instructions, • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills, • 4-7 years of experience in a machine shop or metal fabrication environment, • Basic computer skills, • Strong oral and written communication skills Join a rapidly growing company that is doubling in size this year, offering excellent opportunities for career advancement and personal growth. Work Environment Work in a dynamic metal fabrication environment focused on creating dock equipment. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
