This is a varied and highly autonomous role covering approximately 65 heat networks across a portfolio of 38,000 homes, alongside wider energy arrangements across around 1,000 sites. Were looking for someone who can take ownership getting out across the portfolio, understanding what is happening on individual sites, identifying what needs to be done and driving projects through to completion. The Role Working across the North West and Midlands, youll be responsible for managing a number of interconnected projects covering heat networks, metering, regulatory compliance and energy procurement. Your responsibilities will include: • Project managing works across approximately 65 heat networks, • Regularly visiting sites to assess existing arrangements, identify risks and establish required works, • Managing projects from initial assessment and scoping through to delivery and completion, • Supporting the organisation's readiness for and compliance with Ofgem heat network regulation, • Establishing effective compliance monitoring, evidence and reporting processes, • Managing metering projects, including the assessment and replacement of existing dumb meters and transition to AMR/smart metering, • Coordinating meter switchovers and specialist metering engineers, • Ensuring appropriate risk assessments, works assessments and supporting documentation are in place, • Managing contractors, consultants, engineers, suppliers and other specialist partners, • Project managing a significant energy contract tender covering approximately 1,000 sites, • Working closely with procurement, finance, property, compliance and service charge teams, • Providing clear project, risk and compliance reporting to internal stakeholders, • Developing effective processes for the longer-term management and monitoring of the heat network portfolio About You Were interested in speaking to experienced Project Managers from backgrounds including heat networks, energy, gas, utilities, building services, social housing, property or compliance. You dont necessarily need to come from a pure heat networks background, but you will need strong technical understanding and experience of managing complex projects within a regulated environment. Youll ideally have experience of some of the following: • Heat networks, communal heating or energy infrastructure, • Energy or gas compliance, • Metering, AMR or smart meter programmes, • Managing engineers and technical contractors, • Regulatory compliance and reporting, • Energy procurement and contract management, • Multi-site project or programme delivery, • Risk assessments and safe delivery of works, • Working within social housing or a large property portfolio A relevant qualification in engineering, energy, building services, property or project management would be advantageous, as would APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management accreditation. However, strong practical experience will be equally valued. What Were Looking For This role needs someone who is proactive, organised and comfortable working autonomously. Youll need to be happy getting out to sites across the North West, meeting engineers and contractors, understanding the practical issues and making sure actions don't simply sit on a report you'll take ownership and get them resolved. The role is hybrid, but this is not a purely desk-based Project Manager position. A visible presence across the portfolio will be an important part of the role.
