Membership Coordinator The Groucho Club is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Membership Coordinator to support the smooth day-to-day operations of our Membership Department. As Membership Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every member and prospective member receives outstanding service from initial enquiry to ongoing engagement. You’ll be the friendly first point of contact for membership queries, applications, renewals, and member communications, helping us maintain the high standards and warm culture that make The Groucho Club so special. What You’ll Be Doing Service Orientation • Deliver exceptional customer service to members, prospective members, and colleagues, always acting as an ambassador for the Club., • Respond promptly and professionally to member enquiries via phone, email, or in person, escalating issues where appropriate., • Meet and greet members, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported during every interaction. Operations • Support member acquisition, retention, and renewal campaigns, including research and data-driven activity., • Lead the membership application process from start to finish, preparing all documentation for the Membership Committee., • Be the internal CRM champion maintaining an overarching understanding of how the database is used and ensuring data integrity., • Analyse and interrogate CRM data to support recruitment and retention strategies and improve campaign effectiveness., • Support the coordination of membership communications, newsletters, advertising, and collateral in line with brand guidelines., • Manage, track, and evaluate all membership, renewal, and leaver activities, keeping systems up to date and accurate., • Attend Groucho events and support cross-departmental initiatives that enhance member engagement. Administrative • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records, including payments, renewals, and contact details., • Process membership applications, renewals, and temporary memberships — obtaining references, issuing welcome packs, and managing My Groucho access., • Provide regular and ad hoc membership reports (attrition, renewals, leavers, reciprocals, newsletter lists, etc.)., • Manage ledger account administration, including reviewing reports, processing payments, and following up on outstanding balances., • Follow up with lapsed members, process resignations, and reinstate members who rejoin., • Assist in the planning and creation of content for the membership newsletter and member communications. What Makes You a Great Fit • Experience in a membership, CRM, or administrative role within hospitality, leisure, or private members’ clubs., • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with great attention to detail., • Excellent written and verbal communication — warm, professional, and member-focused., • Comfortable working with data, reports, and CRM systems., • A proactive problem solver with a genuine passion for people and service., • Collaborative and positive attitude, with a desire to contribute to the Club’s wider success.
