Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This position provides mechanical repair and maintenance services for machinery, equipment, and infrastructure across the plant using multiple tools and techniques. It involves performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in a hands-on capacity within a diverse plant environment. The role specializes in the installation, repair, troubleshooting, as well as predictive and preventative maintenance of a wide range of building equipment, production machinery, and HVAC systems. Responsibilities • Execute tasks encompassing all facets of construction trades related to building maintenance, including pipe fitting, welding, millwright work, carpentry, sheet metal, rigging, refractory brick, and plumbing., • Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems., • Exhibit a strong understanding of electrical equipment and adhere to rigorous safety protocols., • Capable of lathe turning, setting up milling machines, and utilizing other precision machine tools for crafting, modifying, or renewing machine components and assemblies to exacting tolerances., • Design, construct, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, boilers, and furnaces., • Undertake fabrication and assembly work, combining hand tools with machine tools., • Interpret and work from sketches, patterns, blueprints, and conceptual designs., • Foster a collaborative team environment with a consistently positive attitude., • Operate effectively with minimal or no supervision., • Organize and manage supplies and inventories, including ordering materials and coordinating with vendors., • Operate material handling equipment with precision and safety., • Maintain a clean and orderly work area., • Offer guidance and training to fellow employees as needed and be receptive to training., • Adhere to stringent safe work practices., • Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as necessitated by the role.Essential Skills, • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance in a heavy industrial environment., • Troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems., • Welding and fabrication experience., • Reading advanced blueprints., • Experience troubleshooting and installing heavy industrial equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Pipe fitting., • Electrical experience., • Furnace repairs., • HVAC repairs., • Boiler troubleshooting., • Manual machining.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates on the 2nd shift, from 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends. The environment is heavily focused on heavy equipment and forging, requiring comfort in a true industrial manufacturing setting. Attire includes jeans and steel toe boots.
