Job Description Goodwill of the Great Plains is looking for a Straight Truck Driver Customer Services Rep to help move materials from or near trucks, dock and/or staging areas to specific locations within the warehouse or other destinations. This position will also include driving a straight truck to various locations for pick up or delivery. Due to having to operate a straight truck with air brakes, a medical card is required. Job Summary: Performs routine deliveries and pickups of containers with documents/electronics from customers using company trucks, always adhering to security procedures. Follows top security measures during routine duties related to document/electronic destruction requested for Government/Commercial customers. Ensures security measures are followed during retrieving, transporting, and destroying sensitive material. Educations and/or Experience: • High School Diploma or G.E.D required., • Minimum one (1) year experience in shipping and receiving operations., • Forklift experience and certification required., • Minimum one (1) year experience driving, 21 years of age. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to operate a 26’ single axle truck with a maximum 26,000 GVWR to pick up and deliver materials., • PC experience using Word and Excel, and other software preferred., • Able to lift 50 pounds., • Effective communications and interpersonal skills to work with internal staff as well as customers., • Valid South Dakota Driver’s license and a DMV record that is acceptable to Goodwill., • Maintain a DOT Medical Certificate for a minimum of one year. Work Devices/Materials/Equipment Used: Uses document destruction equipment as follows: • Tipper, • Conveyor Belts, • Model 20-350C 40 HP Shredder, • Tipper Baler, • Power Unity, • Uses moving equipment (forklift) and tools (including dolly, gloves, carts, etc.) various supplies and equipment including telephone, adding machine, computer, printer, copy machine, file cabinets, papers/forms, pens/pencils, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Adheres to the highest possible security standards as required within NAID/iSigma Certification. Immediately report any incidents of unauthorized access of sensitive material to Assistant Manager/Manager/Director of Operations., • Prepare bins for shipping to customers. Verifies number of empty bins meet the required amount on Service Ticket. Ensures bins are clean and presentable for the work setting., • Places locked containers on truck and secures them to ensure safe transit. Loads, secures, and unloads cargo in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies quantity of loaded empty containers match the quantities required on the Work Order., • Checks truck, it’s equipment, and supplies to ensure roadworthiness., • Transports cargo and bins to and from specified destinations using company vehicles, and in accordance with designated schedules., • Receives incoming materials, records tracking data, and processes them according to established practices, procedures, and record keeping requirements, • Follows service requirements related to security standards for destruction of documents/electronics and pickups of sensitive material., • Ensures documents are stored and shredded in a timely manner to meet the NAID/iSigma Certification specifications., • Completes daily logs and inspection forms per DOL regulations., • Always works safely, following all safety rules and regulations while working inside and outside of the plant especially while operating equipment, • Performs other duties as required. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Position is required to maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality when documents/ electronics are being destroyed. The ability to manage in an environment that is dynamic and growing, and that requires strict compliance with contract specifications is necessary., • Markets Goodwill by educating employees, vendors, customers, and general public about Goodwill’s mission. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: MEDIUM Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Frequently unloading trucks, walking, bending, standing. MENTAL DEMANDS: Problem-solving, dealing with stressful situation, decision-making, communication with others, calculating and writing.
