Job Description Job Type: Job Type: Full-Time, Temp/Temp-to-Hire (60-90 day contract with potential conversion). Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, On-Site Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year ($31.25/hr - $33.65/hr) Location: Chicago Loop Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records for our Q1 reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms. Seeking a self-starter to support management with reliable financial and accounting deliverables. A successful candidate is expected to have a high degree of attention to detail, initiative to execute assignments, and a team player. Travel across the U.S. will be required 60% of the time. Key Responsibilities: * Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. * Maintain or assist in maintaining general ledgers and reconciling ledger accounts regularly. * Integrate accounting processes and implement appropriate tagging of financial records across all portfolio companies * Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes * Generate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, trial balance) * Help in preparation of supporting documentation for external accountants or auditors * Ensure proper record keeping, document retention and compliance with company policies and regulations * Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports; liaise with AP and AR teams as needed in a timely manner. * Integrate banking systems across all portfolio companies * Manage any vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies. * Manage payroll processing and related filings (as applicable) * Act as a liaison between various internal teams to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution Qualifications: * College degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field. * Having a minimum of 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, finance and accounting. * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in English are mandatory for this role. * Excellent organizational skills, self-starter, ability to identify efficiencies and recommend efficiencies, and operational thinking are critical to the role. * Ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment * Valid driver’s license * Willing and able to travel across the U.S. (required).
