About the Role We’re seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair A/V systems, electronics, and electro-mechanical equipment across Chicago and the surrounding Midwest region. This is a hands-on, travel-heavy field role where your technical skill directly impacts clinical uptime and customer operations. What You’ll Do • Install, service, maintain, and repair A/V and electro-mechanical systems, • Perform on-site troubleshooting and FRU-level repairs, • Complete service calls with accuracy, professionalism, and strong customer interaction, • Document work performed, parts used, and service outcomes, • Travel independently throughout Illinois and the Midwest, • Manage your own schedule, routing, and daily workflow, • Adapt to hospital requirements, onsite protocols, and urgent service requests, • Represent Quest with strong communication, professionalism, and customer service Required Skills & Experience • 3+ years servicing electro-mechanical, A/V, electronics, or medical device systems, • Ability to troubleshoot and replace parts at the FRU level, • Hands-on proficiency with diagnostic tools such as:, • Digital multimeters, • Pressure/vacuum meters, • Frequency counters, • Experience mounting, configuring, and testing A/V components, • Cable knowledge: HDMI, USB, Coax, Cat5/Cat6, • Familiarity with control systems, DSPs, amplifiers, DVRs, switchers, • Excellent customer service, communication, and professionalism, • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces, • Comfortable with 80%+ travel Preferred (Not Required) • A/V system configuration experience, • CCTV or low-voltage background, • CompTIA A+ or similar technical certification, • Experience in medical or clinical environments, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Who Thrives in This Role • Self-directed field technicians, • Hands-on problem solvers, • Reliable, steady performers with strong customer communication, • Techs who enjoy independent work, travel, and daily variety, • People who take pride in delivering precise, high-quality technical service What We’ll Discuss in the Interview • Your real-world troubleshooting examples, • FRU-level repair experience, • Comfort with heavy travel, • Diagnostic tool proficiency, • Experience with A/V, electronics, or low-voltage systems, • Handling urgent or on-demand service requests, • Physical readiness for the field, • On-call or after-hours flexibility Ready to Apply?
