You’ll be moving in with one of the UK’s most well-known home-grown manufacturers, working with a company with years of brand recognition, and long term, stable financial backing. This role will be working with all teams in the business, and focusses on maintaining compliant, ensuring cost-efficiency and managing suppliers and governance. You will be at the centre of procurement operations, responsible for supplier sourcing, management, evaluation, negotiation and performance monitoring. A great opportunity for someone early career looking to get a breadth of experience at a very fast pace! \n \n Position Title: Procurement Specialist \n Department: Finance & Operations \n Reporting To: Senior Procurement Manager \n Location: Birmingham (5 days on site) \n Salary: Up to 30K \n Start Date: MUST BE ABLE TO START WITHIN 1 MONTH \n \n Key Responsibilities \n Procurement Management \n\n • Manage the full procurement lifecycle from purchase requisition (PR) to purchase order (PO) issuance.\n, • Review procurement requests and ensure completeness of business requirements.\n, • Develop and maintain Scope of Work (SOW) documents together with requesting departments.\n, • Conduct supplier sourcing, market research, and supplier qualification activities.\n, • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations in accordance with company procurement policies.\n, • Lead commercial negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, quality, delivery, and service terms.\n, • Ensure procurement activities comply with approved budgets and internal approval authorities.\n, • Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) through the procurement system.\n\n \n Business Procurement Support \n Support procurement activities related to: \n\n • Marketing campaigns\n, • Trade shows and exhibitions\n, • Customer events\n, • Advertising and media services\n, • Logistics and vehicle transportation\n, • Consultancy services\n, • Project-based outsourced services\n, • OEM-related business activities\n\n Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Project teams to understand business requirements and procurement priorities. \n \n Administrative Procurement Support \n Manage procurement activities related to: \n\n • Office supplies\n, • IT equipment\n, • Office services and facilities\n, • Travel services\n, • Employee welfare programmes\n, • Training services\n, • Fixed assets\n\n \n Supplier Management \n\n • Build and maintain a qualified supplier database.\n, • Conduct supplier onboarding and due diligence checks.\n, • Manage supplier performance reviews and supplier scorecards.\n, • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and cost optimisation.\n, • Support contract negotiations and supplier relationship management.\n\n \n Procurement Governance and Compliance \n\n • Ensure procurement requests are supported by approved budgets.\n, • Verify procurement documentation is complete and properly approved.\n, • Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and internal controls.\n, • Support conflict of interest reviews and supplier compliance assessments.\n, • Maintain procurement records and audit trails.\n, • Assist with procurement reporting and spend analysis.\n\n \n Cross-Functional Collaboration \n\n • Work closely with Finance to support budget control and payment processes.\n, • Partner with business stakeholders to identify procurement opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.\n, • Provide procurement guidance and support to internal departments.\n, • Participate in procurement process improvement initiatives.\n\n \n Qualifications and Experience \n Education \n\n • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or related discipline.\n\n \n Experience \n\n • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience.\n, • Experience in both indirect procurement and business/project procurement preferred.\n, • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, FMCG, retail, or multinational environments is advantageous.\n, • Experience managing supplier RFQs, negotiations, and contracts.\n, • Experience working within procurement systems and ERP platforms.\n\n \n Skills and Competencies \n\n • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.\n, • Excellent stakeholder management skills.\n, • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n, • Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.\n, • High attention to detail and organisational skills.\n, • Good understanding of procurement governance and internal controls.\n, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems.\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\n \n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • CIPS qualification (Level 4 or above) preferred.\n, • Knowledge of UK procurement regulations and supplier compliance requirements.\n, • Experience supporting sales and marketing procurement activities.\n, • Experience in automotive OEM or automotive distribution environment is highly desirable.\n\n \n Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) \n\n • Procurement savings achieved.\n, • Supplier delivery and performance metrics.\n, • Procurement cycle time.\n, • PO issuance accuracy.\n, • Budget compliance rate.\n, • Supplier onboarding and compliance completion rate.\n, • Internal stakeholder satisfaction.\n, • Procurement policy compliance.\n\n \n \n \n \n
