Application Deadline: 8 January 2026 Department: Logistics Location: Preston Description We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead and develop our transport team while overseeing day-to-day transport operations. This role is key to ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a positive, high-performance culture across the transport team. Key Responsibilities • To be responsible for daily deliveries through the use of the manifest system and communication with sales across all divisions of TKMUK., • Ensuring that all vehicles and drivers meet the recommended legal requirements and all records are maintained in accordance with VOSA., • The recruitment, supervision, motivation, training and appraisal of the drivers and transport admin in conjunction with the Divisional Transport Manager., • The efficient implementation of Company Standard Practices and warehouse procedures. Meeting all legal and safety requirements applicable to the Company., • To observe the requirements of the company Quality procedures, Environmental procedures and Health & Safety rules., • To ensure that all administration functions are carried out efficiently, particularly by the Transport administration assistants., • To control Route Planning and to ensure the effective utilisation both of company and of hired vehicles., • Hold a valid Transport Manager CPC (National and/or International)., • Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport supervisory role., • Strong working knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours, tachographs, and compliance requirements., • Demonstrable experience in people management, including managing drivers and transport staff., • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, with experience handling performance management, absence, and disciplinary processes., • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels., • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands., • Previous responsibility for O-Licence compliance., • Experience working in a fast-paced or regulated environment., • Knowledge of health & safety and risk management within transport operations., • Competitive salary + car allowance, • Annual Leave: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, • Health Cash Plan (after 6 months), • Company bonus scheme, • Advantageous pension scheme, • Learning & Development opportunities, • Advanced Family Friendly Policies, • Employee high street vouchers & discounts, • Employee Assistance Programme, • Occupational health & health surveillance, • Length of Service Awards, • Christmas savings scheme, • Eye care vouchers, • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Wellbeing events, • Recognition Portal, • Rewards Portal, • Company events, • Company share schemes
