Job DescriptionLitigation Legal Assistant - Phoenix, AZ (Downtown) Compensation: From $55,000+ DOE, plus benefits About the Role LHH is partnering with a respected downtown Phoenix law firm to hire a proactive, detail-driven Legal Assistant. In this role, you'll support attorneys and paralegals with high-impact administrative and legal tasks, keep matters on schedule, and ensure documents, data, and communications are accurate and organized. What You'll Do • Manage busy calendars for partners and associates, including meetings, depositions, hearings, client calls, and internal deadlines., • Coordinate travel, prepare detailed itineraries, and track related expenses; process reimbursements in a timely manner., • Prepare and format professional correspondence, presentations, and meeting materials; maintain contact lists and matter profiles., • Assist with budget tracking in Excel and compile periodic reports for leadership., • Draft, format, and proofread letters, memoranda, and other work product using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); apply templates and styles consistently., • Manage electronic and physical files-opening, labeling, indexing, and archiving-ensuring files remain current, complete, and easy to retrieve., • Maintain orderly matter folders in the firm's document management workspace and apply naming conventions/version control., • Prepare, revise, and finalize litigation documents (e.g., pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, notices, exhibits, and shells) with a high level of accuracy., • Coordinate service and e-filing/paper filing in Arizona state and, as needed, federal courts; monitor docket updates and time-sensitive deadlines., • Schedule and support depositions and hearings-arranging conference rooms, court reporters, interpreters, videography, and exhibits., • Track attorney time entries weekly and assist with matter billing hygiene (narratives, edits, and missing time reminders)., • Help attorneys and paralegals with trial-readiness tasks, such as assembling binders, exhibit lists, witness logistics, and day-of materials., • Serve as a point of contact between attorneys and internal teams (e.g., accounting, IT, business development, records), ensuring requests are logged and resolved promptly., • Prioritize incoming requests, triage competing deadlines, and keep stakeholders informed of status and next steps.What You'll Bring Required • 1-3+ years of administrative experience; legal industry strongly preferred., • Demonstrated exposure to litigation workflows (state and/or federal) such as e-filing, discovery document handling, and court-driven deadlines., • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), including advanced formatting, track changes, and basic formulas/tables in Excel., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and grammar/spelling., • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and client service; comfortable handling confidential information., • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.Preferred (Nice to Have), • Experience with a document management system (DMS), PDF tools, and document comparison/redlining., • Familiarity with time entry or billing systems and basic matter-opening/conflict-check processes., • Prior experience supporting trial preparation and deposition logistics.Work Environment, • Location: Onsite in downtown Phoenix, AZ., • Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours with occasional overtime during peak litigation periods.Why Join, • Exposure to complex matters and seasoned attorneys who invest in mentorship., • Clear pathways to expand responsibilities (e.g., increased case ownership, potential paralegal-track development)., • Competitive pay starting at $55,000+ DOE, with benefits and firm-sponsored training resources.How to Apply If you meet the qualifications and are excited to deepen your litigation experience, please apply today.
