Business Development & Sales Representative Position Overview The Business Development & Sales Representative is responsible for expanding Parkworks Mechanical Systems’ presence in the automated parking industry by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and driving new business from concept to close. This role combines technical understanding with strategic communication to effectively present complex system solutions to developers, architects, general contractors, and consultants. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills, a technical mindset, and a results-oriented approach to business growth. This position plays a critical role in owning and advancing sales opportunities, coordinating internal resources, and ensuring Parkworks is well-prepared for client engagements throughout the sales process. The Business Development & Sales Representative also contributes to refining and strengthening Parkworks’ business development processes, maintaining accurate pipeline intelligence, and supporting long-term scalability and sustained market success. Key Responsibilities • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets and project types, • Own assigned sales opportunities from initial lead through proposal, negotiation, and project award or loss, ensuring opportunities are actively advanced and tracked, • Build and maintain relationships with developers, architects, contractors, and consultants, • Act as the primary internal champion for each opportunity, ensuring Parkworks leadership and technical teams are aligned on strategy, context, and next steps, • Lead preparation for client meetings, including coordinating internal briefings to align Parkworks participants on meeting objectives, project context, and roles, • Understand client needs and collaborate with our internal technical teams to craft tailored solutions, • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and system overviews, • Support estimating and technical design discussions with clients as needed, • Coordinate with engineering, estimating, and leadership to support proposal development and conceptual system solutions, • Manage pipeline and CRM records, track leads, and report on progress toward sales goals, • Maintain accurate, real-time records of opportunity status, including project stage, expected value, decision timelines, and key stakeholders, • Track and document opportunity outcomes, including wins, losses, and key decision drivers, to inform company strategy and leadership reporting, • Conduct basic market research and maintain awareness of competitor activity, project trends, and emerging opportunities within the automated parking and development markets, • Represent Parkworks at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events, • Contribute to strategic sales planning and market analysis, • Document client meetings by capturing clear notes, feedback, action items, and next steps, and ensuring timely internal communication, • This role requires the flexibility to travel throughout California and occasionally out of state to attend meetings, site visits, industry events, and client presentations Qualifications • Experience in business development or sales, ideally in a technical, mechanical, construction, or architectural environment, • Ability to quickly understand and explain technical systems—especially automated or mechanical infrastructure, • Demonstrated ability to own and manage complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles, • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, • Self-starter with strong time management and organizational abilities, • Comfortable leading client meetings and coordinating internal preparation for major opportunities, • Comfortable in both client-facing and construction/site environments, • Familiarity with CRM systems and basic office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace), • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage detailed sales pipelines, • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel out of area or state for meetings and site visits Preferred Qualifications • Background or training in engineering, construction management, mechanical systems, or a related technical field, • Familiarity with architectural drawings, specs, and construction project workflows, • Experience working with design-build teams or large development projects Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Volume and quality of qualified leads generated, • Sales conversion rate and total new business revenue closed, • Pipeline accuracy and timeliness of CRM updates, • Responsiveness and follow-up rate with clients and prospects, • Client satisfaction and repeat business rate, • Contribution to strategic sales initiatives and process improvements, • Effectiveness of proposals and presentations in advancing opportunities, • Collaboration with internal technical and estimating teams, • Preparation and coordination of client meetings, including internal alignment and readiness of Parkworks participants, • Quality and completeness of client meeting documentation, including notes and action items, • Accuracy and completeness of opportunity tracking, including documentation of project wins, losses, and decision drivers, • Attendance and engagement in lunch and learns, industry events, and client meetings Benefits • Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), • Paid Time Off (PTO), • 401(k) / retirement plan with 4% Company Match, • Paid Holidays, • Disability & Life Insurance, • EAP, • Performance Bonuses / Commission Structure, • Professional development
