Role: Interim Head of Finance Location: Solihull We are partnering with a growing, medium-sized business to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. As the business continues to evolve, this role will suit a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating in a changing environment. The Role As Head of Finance, you will be the go-to person for all finance-related matters, leading the finance team and ensuring the smooth running of core financial operations. You will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, compliance, and providing insight to support FP&A activity and Board-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function, • Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to, • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, • Lead the month-end close process and production of management accounts, • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow, • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time, • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely payments and effective issue resolution, • Oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment, • Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic planning, • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, • Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders, • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit, • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team About You • An experienced Finance Manager or similar, ready to step into a senior leadership role, • Background within a small to medium-sized business environment, • Comfortable working in a hands-on role with broad responsibility, • Adaptable, resilient, and positive in the face of change, • Ambitious, with a desire to grow and develop as the business scales
