Job Specification: Project Manager Department: Business Transformation Reports to: Senior Project Manager Direct Reports: None Job Purpose The Project Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of corporate projects and service improvements, ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The role establishes effective project governance, produces high‑quality documentation, and ensures transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of small to large projects, from discovery and business case development through to closure., • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards., • Identify, assess, and manage project risks to meet business and customer requirements., • Support the development of robust business cases aligned to organisational priorities, demonstrating clear return on investment., • Maintain and track project schedules, reporting progress accurately and consistently. Stakeholder Management • Understand and analyse stakeholder needs, ensuring effective communication and sustained buy‑in., • Provide clear, targeted project reporting using appropriate templates and tools., • Present updates, ideas, and progress to stakeholders with confidence and clarity. Governance & Documentation • Establish and maintain sound project governance as directed by the Project Board., • Produce high‑quality project documentation, including initiation documents, RAID logs, schedules, and other lifecycle artefacts., • Ensure benefits and success measures are defined, tracked, and realised post‑project. Supplier & Budget Management • Contract‑manage third‑party suppliers to ensure delivery against agreed time, cost, and quality., • Manage project budgets, including resource utilisation and external costs., • Maximise value for money and maintain strong supplier relationships. Continuous Improvement • Apply and champion the organisation’s project delivery framework and toolsets., • Provide feedback and insights to support continuous improvement of project methodologies., • Act as an advisor to colleagues, helping to upskill the business in project delivery practices.
