We are seeking a Business Consultant to support the delivery of client consultancy assignments and the continued development of our digital decision-support services. The successful candidate will assess business feasibility, analyse financial and operational information, identify commercial risks and improvement opportunities, and translate findings into practical recommendations. The role will also help convert recurring client requirements into defined improvements for RestroIQ’s digital platform and decision-support tools. Job details • Salary: £36,500 gross per year, • Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, • Employment type: Permanent and full-time, • Location: Birmingham, • On-site availability at RestroIQ’s Birmingham office is required, • Occasional attendance at client premises may be required, • Hybrid working arrangements may be discussed where appropriate, subject to business and client-delivery requirements, • Reporting to: Director, RestroIQ Ltd Key responsibilities • Assess the feasibility and commercial viability of proposed and existing businesses, including their business models, locations, target customers, start-up costs, operating assumptions and anticipated revenue., • Prepare and review cost, pricing, profitability and break-even analyses., • Analyse fixed and variable costs, expected sales volumes, delivery-platform charges and other factors affecting business performance., • Gather and document client requirements through structured discussions and reviews of relevant business information., • Map existing or proposed operational processes and identify inefficiencies, control weaknesses, commercial risks and opportunities for improvement., • Translate analytical findings into evidence-based recommendations, options and practical implementation plans., • Advise clients on business-model development, operational improvement, cost management, service delivery and commercial decision-making., • Translate recurring client needs and consultancy findings into defined business requirements for RestroIQ’s digital platform and decision-support tools., • Work with technical resources to clarify required functionality, business rules and intended user outcomes., • Support clients with the implementation of agreed recommendations and establish appropriate measures for monitoring results and benefits., • Prepare professional feasibility reports, financial models, process maps, analytical summaries, presentations and other client deliverables., • Attend client meetings and present analytical findings and recommendations where required., • Manage assigned consultancy work in accordance with agreed deadlines and quality standards. Essential skills and experience • One to two years of relevant experience in business consultancy, management consultancy, business analysis, commercial analysis or a closely related role., • Experience gathering, documenting and evaluating business requirements., • Understanding of profitability, pricing, cost analysis and break-even assessment., • Ability to identify business risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities., • Strong report-writing, presentation and stakeholder-communication skills., • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint., • Ability to work on site at RestroIQ’s Birmingham office and attend client premises when required. The successful candidate will report to RestroIQ Ltd’s Director and work closely with clients and the company’s technical resource. Proven record of revenue growth and account acquisition. Strong communication and numeracy: margin analysis, pricing, forecasting. Commercial negotiation experience with suppliers or trade customers. Working knowledge of the UK food retail and off-licence sector. Desirable 1. Familiarity with Indian and South Asian food categories, ingredients and supplier networks., 2. Experience with EPOS and stock management systems. Personal Licence holder under the Licensing Act 2003.
