Senior Surveyor - Asset Management\n\nSalary: £50,000+ Benefits \nLocation: Norwich \nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join a growing Asset Management team, playing a key leadership role in delivering high‑quality surveying services across a residential property portfolio.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Surveyor, you will lead and manage a team of Asset Surveyors, ensuring the delivery of robust stock condition data, high‑quality technical inspections, and effective diagnosis of building defects. You will support strategic asset planning, contribute to long‑term investment programmes, and drive continuous improvement across surveying and repairs practices. \nYou will also act as a key technical point of contact for complex cases, including complaints and disrepair, providing clear, fair, and well‑documented survey findings to support resolution.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead, motivate, and develop a team of Asset Surveyors through regular 1‑to‑1s, appraisals, and performance management\nOversee delivery of a rolling stock condition survey programme\nProvide technical oversight on condition surveys, responsive repairs surveys, damp and mould assessments, and defect diagnosis\nEnsure surveys are accurately scoped, priced, categorised, and recorded to support 30‑year investment planning\nValidate survey outputs and maintain high standards of asset data accuracy\nCarry out surveys in support of legal disrepair cases and prepare schedules of dilapidation\nComplete pre‑, in‑progress, and post‑inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money\nPrepare clear works orders and detailed specifications for in‑house teams and contractors\nMonitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with health & safety and building regulations\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nDegree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or significant relevant experience\nProfessional membership (or working towards) such as RICS, CIOB, or CIH\nStrong experience in residential surveying, ideally within social housing or similar environments\nProven experience managing or supervising surveyors or technical staff\nExcellent knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and repair diagnostics\nStrong understanding of compliance areas including HHSRS, damp & mould, fire safety, asbestos, and building safety legislation\nConfident communicator, able to engage effectively with residents and stakeholders at all levels\nStrong organisational and time‑management skills\nIT‑competent, with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
