Job DescriptionSalary: $165,000 - $185,000 The Vice President of Production is a senior production executive who reports directly to the Chief Creative Officer (CCO). This role provides management and operational oversight of establishedtelevision, digital, audio, and interactive productions. The VP of Production will directly managethe companys senior production team, which includes a Co-Executive Producer, Supervising Producers, Director of Interactive, and Director of Post-Production. The Vice President of Production is an experienced people, process, and project manager with a proven record of success leading multiple productions. While direct experience producing childrens content is valued, it is not required. It is essential to have deep expertise in creating animation, live-action, or interactive content, whether as a producer or an executive. Responsibilities • Provide leadership and oversight for established productions (i.e., series and projects entering their second cycle of production) across television, digital, and interactive media., • Manage and support a team of senior producers, supervising established productions., • Serve as the primary liaison between the senior production team and the Chief Creative Officer, delivering regular updates on project status, challenges, and key decisions., • Work with senior producers to manage production partners., • Work with distributors to oversee deliverables and scheduling., • Establish and maintain production workflows, systems, and best practices to maximize efficiency and collaboration across teams., • Partner with colleagues across the company to ensure productions align with FRPs mission and strategic goals., • Collaborate with the finance department and series producers on all production budgets, including reviewing budget-to-actuals. Provide the Chief Creative Officer with timely updates on the financial status of each production, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities., • As needed, collaborate with CCO, finance department and development team to generate new workflows, budgets and schedules for projects in development or first seasons., • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for producers and production staff., • Monitor industry trends and innovations in production, interactive media, and content distribution, recommending strategies to keep FRP at the forefront of childrens media. Qualifications • 10+ years of progressive experience in content production as a producer or executive (television, digital, or interactive), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing productions., • Strong track record of overseeing production teams and delivering high-quality content across formats and platforms., • Proven people manager with experience supervising senior producers and leading cross-disciplinary teams., • Deep knowledge of production processes, workflows, and budgets., • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across creative, operational, and executive teams., • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in both content and workplace culture., • Familiarity with childrens educational content a plus, but not required. Skills • Project Management: Expertise in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously; setting clear goals, timelines, and deliverables; and ensuring accountability across teams., • Budget & Cost Accounting: Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and track production budgets; ongoing responsibility for cost accounting within production budgets; and ensuring financial discipline across productions., • Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead senior producers and cross-functional teams; skilled at balancing creative ambitions with operational realities; decisive and collaborative in leadership style., • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex production updates into clear recommendations for executives., • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to anticipate production challenges, develop solutions, and align resources to support FRPs mission and creative vision., • Adaptability: Ability to pivot and problem-solve in fast-paced environments while maintaining focus on long-term organizational goals.
