Position Summary We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations group focusing on new product development within the Sensor business unit, in which you'll be a strong contributing member in our collaborative environment. You'll find a good amount of autonomy here, as well as a hard-working group that contributes to Banner's ongoing success and continuing growth. This position reports to the Engineering Manager II. Below are some key responsibilities of the role. Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction • \n, • Provide project level comprehensive Manufacturing Engineering support as an integrated member of a design team.\n, • Work with engineering team on manufacturability (DFM) effort for new product developments\n, • Critically analyze new product concepts and provide constructive feedback for assembly requirements and constraints\n, • Work with engineering team to incorporate preferred assembly methods and critical part features that are necessary to achieve yield and cost targets\n, • Lead Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions and proactively reduce and eliminate the causes of defects on new product introductions\n, • Complete a manufacturing process plan to facilitate LEAN and single-piece flow errorproof manufacturing\n, • Design Manufacturing line with necessary automation to achieve cost of goods sold requirement\n, • Use workflow toolsets and PTC Creo to specify and provide assembly fixtures and automation\n, • Create labor estimates, time standards, assembly drawings, routings, and procedural documentation\n, • Manage preproduction engineering builds and the manufacturing release process\n, • Participate in production line duplication and product transfers to US and international manufacturing facilities\n\n Process Development and Support • \n, • Lead post-product launch team to address production manufacturability, cost, and yield issues\n, • Research and identify new production technologies to support cost and quality initiatives in the plants\n, • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gage R&R for system control and optimization\n, • Create and maintain assembly documentation and procedures\n\n What You Bring to the Table To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and regular attendance is required. Required BS degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field. \n • 1-3 years of relevant experience.\n, • Strong applied statistical skills to analyze manufacturing data, identify process variation, and drive continuous improvement\n, • Proficiency in PTC ProE, Creo, or other similar solid modeling tools.\n, • Working knowledge of fabrication processes such as plastic injection molding, machining, and metal forming.\n, • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly and manufacturing\n, • Experience developing, improving, and troubleshooting assembly processes on the production floor\n, • Proven problem-solving skills for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues\n, • Comfortable collaborating with operators, technicians, engineers and cross-functional teams to improve quality and yield\n, • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\n, • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities.\n, • Able to travel occasionally to our manufacturing facilities in South Dakota, and possibly Mexico.\n\n Preferred \n • Experience with one or more process technologies such as ultrasonic welding, potting, injection molding, adhesive dispensing, automation, etc.\n, • Experience specifying, deploying, and supporting manufacturing equipment and automation solutions.\n, • Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and support the development of manufacturing fixtures that improve efficiency, quality, and process repeatability.\n, • Working knowledge of data-driven problem-solving tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Gage R&R.\n, • Able to identify and advocate for the necessary piece-part features needed to meet. production cost and yield goals.\n\n What to Expect at Work • Physical Demands\n The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
