We are looking for a highly organised and dependable Administrative Assistant to support the smooth running of the Mayors Office at the West Midlands Combined Authority. As Administrative Assistant, youll play a key part in keeping the office running smoothly, coordinating activity, managing priorities and providing reliable support that enables the wider team to focus on delivery. Youll work closely with senior colleagues and teams across the organisation, supporting both political and operational activity with professionalism, discretion and care. What youll be doing. Youll provide flexible, high-quality administrative support, including: Coordinating meetings, diaries and office activity Preparing agendas, papers and meeting logistics, and tracking follow-up actions Keeping track of upcoming commitments, deadlines and engagements Acting as a professional point of contact for internal and external stakeholders Supporting visits, events and engagements, including managing guests and logistics Assisting with briefings, correspondence and documents Maintaining accurate records, trackers and logs Processing travel, accommodation, catering and financial requests in line with organisational policies Supporting procurement, invoices and administrative finance processes Whats essential. Were looking for someone who brings: Experience working in an administrative or office-based role Confidence supporting meetings and coordinating activity Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills The ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure Confidence working with a wide range of people and stakeholders A positive, proactive approach to learning and problem-solving The ability to work both independently and as part of a team An understanding of confidentiality and information handling GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), or relevant work experience. Location. The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
