About the job Company Description We are looking for a Front Office Manager to join our team at The Hoxton, Holborn The Hoxton Holborn Holborn was the second Hox to join the fam, taking over a Grade II-listed building that was once the factory of George Kent, a famed maker of gadgets and instruments (among them a knife sharpener/cleaner now sitting in the Science Museum, no less). After Kent, BT moved in, and now this former telephone exchange is home to 230 bedrooms (expanding from the original 174) and the Apartment, plus our foodie hotspot Rondo and wine bar La Cave, all a stone’s throw from the capital’s most famous shopping and entertainment districts. Job Description What you’ll do… Creating a memorable guest experience for our guests that will leave them wanting to return for more. Supporting the Duty Managers and working closely with the Hoxton teams in setting selling strategies and ensuring maximum occupancy. Previous experience in hospitality in an Assistant Front Office Manager role is an advantage but not a must. Passionate about team development and a demonstrated experience in coaching and developing your team. You’ve got plenty of experience dealing with different types of requests successfully. Your day-to-day Create a warm welcome to everyone and set the tone for each guest’s experience. Set up your outlet – stock up on all the supplies you’ll need and manage your inventory. Ensure that food and beverages are well stocked. Ensure overall cleanliness and maintenance of the working area. Be ready to jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help, that might include serving other outlets like rooms service, bar or terrace. Work with your restaurant and kitchen colleagues to offer a seamless food service. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations. Report and follow up on maintenance and repairs and for the cleanliness of the bar. Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items. Supervise the pool area to make sure every guest is following the stated rules and there are no issues. What we need from you 2+ years’ experience working within hotel/restaurant. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field. Must be fluent in Spanish and English, additional languages will be highly valuable.
