The Ingenuity Group Manchester Office We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused Senior Business Development Manager to join our Group Sales & Marketing Function - the team responsible for accelerating growth across The Ingenuity Group. In this senior role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving strategic growth and deepening our relationships with leading marketing agencies. You’ll play a pivotal part in converting those relationships into high-quality commercial opportunities, fuelling the pipeline for our retained services - including Business Development, PR, the CMO Engagement Programme, and the Agency Growth Club - as well as driving spot sales for our flagship MAD//Meets events. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director for the North, you’ll take ownership of a regional growth plan, collaborating with other Business Development Managers, Business Development Executives, and the wider commercial and marketing teams to deliver on ambitious revenue goals. This is a high-impact, visible role with regular exposure to senior decision-makers at top agencies and brands. You’ll have the opportunity to shape business development strategy, influence commercial direction, and act as a senior voice within the sales function as we continue to scale. Key Responsibilities • Lead on identifying, engaging, and converting new agency relationships into retained and project-based revenue opportunities across our service lines., • Own and manage a regional or sector-specific sales strategy, contributing to quarterly and annual commercial targets., • Develop and execute outreach plans, combining strategic prospecting, marketing collaboration, and self-generated activity to build a consistent pipeline., • Lead and mentor junior team members (e.g. Business Development Executives) by sharing best practices, supporting training, and providing guidance on deal progression., • Craft, deliver, and negotiate tailored proposals and pitches for senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company goals., • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership to refine value propositions and identify new commercial opportunities., • Represent the business externally at key industry events and networking opportunities, acting as a brand ambassador and thought partner to our clients., • Maintain full accountability for CRM accuracy and reporting, ensuring HubSpot data integrity to support forecasting and performance visibility. KPIs for Success • Achievement (or overachievement) of individual and team revenue targets., • Growth in the number and value of retained service contracts., • Consistent pipeline health and conversion rates across the sales funnel., • Positive client engagement metrics and repeat business., • Accurate and timely CRM updates and reporting. What We’re Looking For • A proven track record of success in senior business development, sales, or client acquisition roles — ideally within the marketing, agency, or professional services sectors., • Demonstrated experience owning and delivering commercial targets in a high-performing environment., • Deep understanding of the marketing and agency landscape, with an ability to navigate complex client structures and decision-making processes., • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to motivate others., • Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills., • Experienced user of HubSpot (or similar CRM), comfortable with pipeline management and data-driven reporting., • Resilient, proactive, and commercially astute, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and close high-value deals., • A relationship-led, consultative approach with a genuine passion for helping agencies grow.
